It was late at night. I was a bit tipsy.
Said to myself: ok I'm gonna go in there by myself full tryhard mode, take my time, and beat my clanmate to it by completing it ALONE. Like some used to do with nightfall in D1.
Orbit, loading, go to the strike (super hyped and motivated).
Ok, I'm in. What is that I am seeing? A timer?!
Oh man, I can't really begin to describe how disapointed I was. I shut down the game and went to sleep.
I mean, in the strike description, it doesn't even mention that it's gonna be on timer and that it's gonna be timewarp: anomalies. What a cheap surprise...
So yesterday, we returned in there with two clanmates. We were doing good UNTIL we capped out on the maximum of time we can get back from anomalies. Wait, WHAT THE -blam!-?!
What is this madness? There is actually somebody somewhere that:
1st: thought it would be amazing to add a layer of artificial difficulty by having a goddamn timer in nightfall/strikes.
2nd: thought it would be a great idea that your only method to get more time back would eventually be capped because... NO REASONS.
You're on a timer, but can only grab so much time before you can't anymore, EVEN THOUGH the anomalies are still showing and you can still shoot them. That's the kind of bullshit I havn't seen since those super cheap games back in the NES era.
This is... horrible.
Is this gonna be Bungie's answer to everything that supposed to be a challenge from now on? Put a frigging timer on it?
I feel like somebody is trying really hard to suck the fun outta me.
Edit: Just to clarify some things... I'm not complaining it's too hard. I'm just saying that I (like a lot of people) HATE that mechanic. And that I really just wanted to go in there alone, as a challenge, to clear it by myself and that it is impossible with this design. I can live with this design in a Nightfall, but pushing it to a strike that has no mention whatsoever it's gonna be a Prestige Nightfall... well I think Bungie's pushing it a bit.
Also, if you're gonna call me a casual, you can just stop bothering and close this tab. It's all gonna save us a lot of time.
Thanx and y'all have a good day!

Twas pretty easy, especially if you know the anomoly spawns and take advantage of prism on the boss, you can burn him down in like 1 min if you get lucky.

Edited by maxg2593: 9/24/2017 6:30:18 PMHm try again? Beat it with 3 mins left, with randoms. Of course its hard. Why should you be rewarded with a powerful weapon by doing a non nightfall strike? Even if it was nightfall difficulty, I would be triggered, because it is damn easy. It was a challenge and i liked it. Now i am waiting for the seal Part to be fixed 🤷🏻♂️

So I take it you never got the black spindle in D1 or some of the other exotics with the 'artificial difficulty'?
-
I actually enjoy the timer, it's better than jumping into a glitch spot and sniping the boss over and over till he dies.
-
Best bit is Bungie go hhhhmmm! If i know these guardian they will rinse the boss in seconds, tell you what as soon as he take damage let make him disappear oh and invisable. haha !
-
you don't cap on time unless you glitch it. the game knows how many anomalies are in the strike and when you get that many you cant get any more. git gud
-
Timers are not fun
-
Back in my day, we had the old return to orbit nightfall, this is nothing compared to that. Nothing will compare to light switch arc burn omnigul. This is a piece of cake.
-
I agree 100%. Timers. Are. Not. Difficulty. They are artificial and make everything tedious.
-
Timers on ANYTHING other than racing games is just lazy design. So many other ways to add difficulty without forcing a speed run. The timer cap is also bull.. again just trying to add another layer of pointless mechanics.

Edited by KSI MySTiiQuE: 9/26/2017 1:57:15 PMBeat it with over 7minutes left it's not too bad. Just learn the anomalies spawns.
-
You can't tell me what to do... Casual.
-
Would u like to help me tomorrow with that quest?
-
It's hard
-
I don't mind the strike its difficult but not that bad once you figure it out. What I have a hard time with is that you need 100 tokens to upgrade the gun and only get 1 per raid encounter. That's a crazy grind, not worth doing the raid that many times just to finish the upgrade quest.

Easy way to beat it. Get to boss use all solar supers. Use merciless and what you want to do is shoot with your primary to get the boss down to half his first bar (so he has two and a half left.) Then when solar burn comes on light him up with merciless (xur sold it recently) and all solar supers. We killed him in 30 seconds and he never made it to his first pillar. Cake walk!
-
You capped out because you tried cheesing it. Nice try.

Time is a perfect attribute to mess with in these type of activities. It really separates casuals from heroes.

I am with you! that totally sucks. hopefully you get through it somehow ;)
