So ive come to a few conclusions (somewhat unfounded but they feel accurate) about this game:
Re-skins... re-skins EVERYWHERE!
Im not just talking about weapons/armour... even the planets are reskins!
Think about it, D1 had four locations to visit, so does D2. Titan's playable size is VERY similar to the size of the moon in D1. Earth is a re-skin of... well, Earth, nessus looks a whole lot like venus (dont give me none of that "failsafe said..." crap) Io is a reskin of mars and the leviathan is a re-skinned dreadnaught.
Also its kinda funny how we've just forgotten those other four destinations ever existed in the universe. Will we ever go back to Venus?
So my question is this... what is actually new to the game? More particle effects (that look fake and janky) Yayyyy!
I loved D1 for all its faults and D2 is good but the amount of stuff thats been taken out is unreal. You dont take things out of a sequel unless they dont work. The things they have taken out like ammo synths or VENDORS ACTUALLY SELLING STUFF. ffs what were they thinking.
They patched up one hole but created 16 more in the process.
Also im just ranting now but WTF is this raid can you even call it a raid?? One boss, really... one boss! 3 years of dev and we get one raid boss... even if the dlc raid has 7 bosses it wont make up for how lazy this raid is. Which is a shame cuz the leviathan looks so good.
I await the inevitable forum hate with popcorn and sausage rolls. 😐

Edited by JD: 10/30/2017 2:47:45 PMLeviathan isn’t the dreadnaught that’s coming back to destiny 2 in a expansion. So is mars and the reef. The after credits scene shows the future of Destiny and the locations we are going to next. Clearly the light hits Mercury first “Curse of Osiris” 2nd it hits Mars “Warmind DLC2” This was also confirmed to be what High noon studious was working on so we know it’s mars. Then it hits the dreadnaught then the reef. Then we have our TTK sized expansion with the new enemy race or maybe that’s something that will be Destiny 3 I hope not. Luke Smith pretty much confirmed this theory in a recent interview with edge I believe it was.

Edited by Dooodley: 9/24/2017 8:11:03 PMLet's see; Cutscenes - which are treated as a new thing by the fanbois. Give or take 2-3 vehicle missions (which for the sake of argument have been around since the Halo days) there's literally no difference between the quality or diversity of story in D1 and D2 yet I keep seeing people claim that D2 story is this new great thing. All because of some cutscenes. I personally found the D1 story to have more potential depth and lore. I use the term "potential" because we all know that Bungie never took advantage of it. In D2 it's just another generic badguy. Adventures and lost sectors - Well, it's good they're there because you're pretty much forced to use them to meet the next story chapter requirements while leveling (unless you want to do PE's on top of the all the PE's you have to run when you actually ding 20). That's how little story there is in this game - you can't even level through story without having to go on side-quests. Once you ding lvl 20 they're pretty much useless - give or take the clan XP source for solo players. And yeah, that's it, There's a problem when the list of things they got rid of or broke is way longer than the list of things they added. And that's it.

Mute buttons the same to. Seriously though. Go rant about CoD.

If they would have included the moon and so on, people would have complained alot more i think. The new planets are far from reskins tho in my opinion. IO for example. The surface looks kinda boring yes, but what is underneath is breath taking. There is a strike that takes you through a door that looks alot like the door of VoG (i give you that one) and has to be opened almost the same by taking 2 syncplates but everything after that is really fantastic design. But if you look at nessus its the otherway around. What i do see as a reskin is what enemy's spawn on each planet. Earth is fallen and cabal. Second planets is titan with hive and fallen. Third is nessus with fallen, vex and a little bit of cabal. Last is IO with vex, cabal and taken. Compare that with D1 and we have earth with fallen and hive. Moon with fallen and hive. Venus with fallen and vex. And mars with cabal and vex and later on taken. I think the devs spended more time on the planets and how they look then on any other thing. There is not even a single new option in the character creation menu. Alot of this game is copy and paste. Others are a few small changes before paste it again. Because of that i am curious in 1 detail. For some it may seem like a weird question. But when did Bungie start on the development of D2? Was it during the 3 years off D1 or did they start after the age of triump or whatever it was called last april? Part of me hopes that they started in April this year because then it would be something impressive that have created. But if they started like 2 years ago.....
