no one earns an exotic. They are all random drops. You get lucky, or you get the same -blam!-ING HELMET THREE TIMES IN A ROW! (sorry, personal experience there.) . Now it there was a way to earn it, that would be great. Countless hours of earning and collecting a type of coin or currency that is usable for many different things, so you have to balance what you buy. Do you upgrade or do you save up? The when it comes time, you could have once in a week chance to see if your item you wanted comes up. Then you spend that currency on the exotic, knowing that the whole week of shaving up was worth it. You earned that currency and now you are cashing it in. . OH .... wait. We have that. . I am so glad people think they "Earn" an item by having it gifted to them randomly. That is like saying someone EARN being a vacation sweepstakes winner, then get pissed at someone buying the same vacation with countless hours on the job.

Edited by cellar dweller: 9/22/2017 5:40:35 PMi earned mine yesterday by doing the patrol questline and hawthorne gave it to me. of course xur sold it the next day. now if only i could get some other exotics to drop besides gauntlets the one chest piece with wings the sunshot and the graviton lance that would be good. all i want is a damn 305 darci so i can upgrade my 304 legendary sniper rifles. i dont need 20 merciless fusions
