Welcome to the fourth Community Spotlight interview, featuring IQ of 2 a.k.a. UncoveredSage14! Through this interview hopefully you will learn a little bit more about him.
Camm was our interviewer for this time around, let's see how the interview went! -vanert
Q. What brought you to Bungie.net and how long have you been part of this diverse community?
A. Well I’m not that old of a member. Joined in December 3 years ago and mostly lurked for the next two years. Only really started replying and making the occasional thread last year.
Q. Is there anything specific about the community that keeps you around? Is it safe to say that Destiny brought you here?
A. I’d probably say at first I joined to look at Destiny stuff and see people’s opinions on the game. Originally I only used offtopic waiting for more Destiny posts to be made. After a while, it became the opposite when I realized the Destiny posts were all pretty much the same. Nowadays I don’t even check the Destiny part of the forums. At first, the joke and meme posts made me stay but recently I just kinda want to see how everyone’s doing and what they’re up to.
Q. This community definitely has a way of sucking you in. Have any favorite memories yet that are related to the Bungie community? Anything you’re glad to have been a part of so far?
A. One of my favorite posts of all time is TheAlphaHydras joke post (from two years ago I believe?). That felt like it had an endless supply of jokes. I remember me and my friends working on a project (irl) while I read off some of the good jokes. I’m pretty happy to be a part of a lot of the B.net based discord groups; most of all Ardent just because of how active it is and since I’ve been there a while.
Q. I’ve heard good things of Ardent. Many members of that community have blended very nicely into our Community Spotlight community, such as yourself! Have you played any Destiny 2 yet?
A. Nah not yet. I’m gonna try to get adjusted to my new classes before I get the game. Can’t wait though!
Q. Life can definitely have a way of getting IN the way. Anything specific about Destiny 2 that you’re really excited about?
A. I’ve heard good things about the story. Mostly I just wanna play nightfalls and raids with my friends again.
Q. Fair enough. I’ve played a little, when my schedule permits, and the story is definitely not lacking. Speaking of playing with friends, have you ever played any of Bungie’s other games?
A. I’ve played Reach but I’m pretty bad at it. Still have a lot of fun playing it though. Other than that, no.
Q. Reach is definitely my favorite though some would argue that it shouldn’t be. How about any non-Bungie games? Do you spend any time playing other games and is there a platform you prefer to play on?
A. I’ve been playing Rainbow Six Siege and Injustice 2 a lot lately. Battlefield 4 and the Borderlands series have been pretty solid games for me for the last few years for when I get bored of playing a single game for too long. As for platforms, I have an Xbox and pc and don’t really have a favorite. For me, the game is more important than the console but I understand why people have favorites.
Q. Borderlands will always be in my top 5. What do you do outside of this wonderful community and outside of gaming?
A. I love playing guitar. Guitar and gaming usually takes up all of my free time. I can always listen to music and school pretty much always has me doing some kind of work. Other than that, I’m pretty close to my church community. I play guitar for our youth ministry.
Q. That’s pretty awesome! I pretend to be musically inclined but I’m not cool enough. Favorite guitar? Favorite genre?
A. My favorite guitar that I own is my Epiphone es 295. Don’t really have a favorite genre but I play a lot of Metallica just because it’s fun to show off a bit :p I’ll play pretty much anything.

Q. Sexy. You said you can always listen to music. What kind of songs could we hear on a playlist of yours?
A. Honestly, there’d be a lot. You can find pop, metal, rock, hip-hop, r & b in decent amounts all around. Songs in specific you’d see more often would be stuff from 808s and heartbreak, Metallica’s black album, Birds in Trap Sing McKnight (dumb name but great album), and Electric Ladyland.
Q. Quite the collection of musical taste! You mentioned you would pick up Destiny 2 and that you played Destiny 1, can I assume you are part of a clan? If you are, care to tell us more about it? If not, are you looking for one?
A. I’m in a really small clan with a few of my friends from school. Isn’t really too significant. We usually just text each other to get on and play together and haven’t really ever tried to get involved with the clans. I doubt any of us have even considered trying to recruit people. I’ve heard Destiny 2 focuses in more on clans than the first game so that may be something new to try.
Q. It’s a pretty neat feature to get into! I think this about wraps up our interview. Anything you would like to add about yourself? Maybe some shoutouts?
A. Everyone just check out Ardent if you haven’t already. Thanks for having me.
This concludes our Community Spotlight with UncoveredSage14! I’d like to thank him for the interview and thank you all for reading. Big thanks to the Community Spotlight team. I hope you enjoyed this and look forward to the next one!
