Seriously, WTF is this BS that we can't buy ammo synths to take into battle? The game is NOT in any way dropping enough ammo in the Raid!!!
There is no reason whatsoever to not let us stock up on whatever ammo we think we need and have it at our disposal! The timer keeps it in check.
BRING BACK AMMO SYNTHS!!!
EDIT: For those referring to power ammo, no where in my post did I say power. This is about ALL ammo synths. In the raids primary and secondary are also slim to none. Here's the thing, ammo synths only apply to PVE which means it makes absolutely NO difference to the players who are saying it isn't needed. How about we put them back in the game and those who don't want them can simply don't buy them.
EDIT #2: Bungie please note the overwhelming support of this and take it into consideration... sooner rather than later please.

We had more wipes than we'd care to admit since none of us had done the raid in over 6 months so we were all a bit rusty. How refreshing it was that after each wipe we didn't have to (1) switch gear just to spawn in and (2) didn't have to do heavy ammo run after heavy ammo run. It was so nice to just pop a synth and get back to it. Seriously Bungie, it's time to put these back in the game. [b]MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!![/b]

I get, that Power weapons are strong and shouldn't be used all the time, but why do i need to run out of ammo or struggle to find any in a freaking Raid, where your focus should be on the encounters and not how many shots you have left in any weapon. I personally would at least just give Kinetic and Energy weapons unlimited ammo to begin with. Problem in PvE solved. On a side note: Why is it so hard to switch weapons on the fly? Can't we have like a like a Loadout Shortcut, so i don't have to go into a menu in the middle of the fight and pull out a sidearm to spare some ammo and then go back to a AR or something for the Boss for example?

Completely agree; not requesting that each toon be able carry a stack, just enough to ensure we don't run out in clutch moments in raids and such.

There is definitely a mechanic built into the game that drops ammo for the gun type you are not currently using. For example, I'm killing with my kinetic weapon > enemies drop energy weapon ammo. And vice versa. Power ammo just drops when it feels like it.

Just to mention, Heavy Ammo Synths in D1 are the only synth people talk about when playing because they're the only ones that mattered, so when you bring up a topic about Ammo Synths in general, people are going to assume you mean Power Synths. So while you're right about not mentioning power ammo, you also didn't mention primary/elemental ammo either, which leads to people's back lash about power ammo. Firstly, there are some ammo bugs that make it so certain players don't have ammo drops or not enough to keep the fight going. Yes, bugs need to be fixed. But if they aren't bugs like some of the community thinks they are, then Bungie should increase the drop rate of ammo. From my experience, when the ammo drops are working as intended, as long as you're not missing most of your shots on aliens or not just aiming for body shots on them, you should never run out of ammo. Secondly, there are reasons as the why we don't have ammo synths anymore. Power Ammo drops more frequently than it's counterpart (Heavy Ammo) did in Destiny 1. Every major (enemies with a yellow health bar) drops Power ammo upon dying these days, so there's no need for Power Ammo Synths. As for the reasons mentioned in my first point, Primary and Elemental Synths aren't need either if you're shooting your target and not wasting ammo. Another reason we don't have synths is because of the waste of space it'd take in the game; our vaults and personal inventory. The only way I see ammo synths coming back would be if Bungie made ammo packs rarely drop, (which would make sense considering how none of the aliens use our guns or ammunition) forcing us to spend our unused glimmer on them so we can be battle ready with a bunch of synths on our Guardians. This would slow down game play though and I don't think the community as a whole would appreciate this. Just to restate my main point: I'm fine with a small increase to ammo drops, but not fine with ammo synths being brought back.

I agree, they really need to quit screwing with things that don't need fixing. My damn sword can only hold 30....razelighter and the other swords from d1 could hold twice that

This is why this 2 primaries pecking at a sponge is ridiculous. They don't want to give ammo because they think stretching out the time making you reload a shit load of times is called a challenge. That's logic at it best...

Yeah I've barely seen any secondary ammo since I've started. I can pull all sorts of exotics, but I can't find secondary(energy) ammo? They really do need to bring back the synths. And those saying it's a waste of inventory space, etc, etc. There's a cooldown time for a reason and it wouldn't effects pvp in the slightest.

The only ads someone in the shadow realm get to kill are the psion there and one wave of enemies in the throne room each trip. They also spend most of it hitting skulls. Having an ammo synth there would be a big help.

I totally agree, I'll waste my secondary on shooting skulls and then have no ammo to burn boss, so instead I go around knifing dogs and get no ammo from it, i dpnt want to waste too much primary otherwise i have no ammo doing minds eye phase. then I kill adds before I get teleported and get no ammo.. and I have done the teleport phase with no primary energy or power ammo... ammo drops need to drop in the entire instance, not your immediate area! If I'm killing adds mid, then there is never ammo left or on the right. I find running a sword and super the adds before burn phase helps for conserving ammo, killing Psions before teleporting helps to have sword ammo for killing adds and hoping to get ammo out of it.. but the issue at hand is most the time ammo doesn't drop anywhere some runs and so it's a wipe in the process! At least for the people shooting skulls should have some sort of ammo compensation since we're not getting ammo drops like the people at the main area killing adds. With no ammo synths, ammo drops need to be more frequent, this is only noticeable in final boss at least for me. And as I said before, I notice ammo only drops near you and never on the side where your teammates are killing. Need maur ammo! Please, this has cost many wipes on my team when half the people can't shoot the boss on burn phase cause of lack of ammo! RNG should never determine the out come of a boss fight/raid. (Aside from you weapon and gear loadouts from RNG loot) raids should be determined by skill and experience

Agreed. Even with the Destiny 1 cool down timers back in place, it would still be useful to have available in a pinch. Also it would give us something to spend our glimmer on cause I personally am hitting the cap constantly. Finally throw in the ability to trade them into the Gunsmith for reputation and you'd definitely have a win-win purpose.

Head shots. Rotate weapons often. Use nades and melee on more trash mobs. Never run outta ammo.

I understand your edit...only after running Calus in the raid. Def super low on ammo, BUT, that just means I am missing too much and wasting ammo. We ended up beating it and I had 0 ammo at some parts of damage phase until you get that random quarter refill on both primaries and secondaries. But I feel you, ammo synths would be nice. However, not needed.

I disagree. maybe we need to learn to hit them crit spots better to save ammo instead of spray and play playstyle. I for one hope they dont bring ammo synths into D2

If "Not Enough Power Ammo" is the problem, then surely the solution is: "Make Power Ammo Drop More" and not "Let us buy Power Ammo...?"

The only part of the raid I had trouble with ammo is the Gauntlet. Every where else seemed fine to me
