poptarts mote of light redemption issue

firstly I dont know if this is the proper forum for this, that said.. I bought a box of poptarts, submitted the receipt, got my code for a mote of light, entered the code into the system. all's well so far. here's where the snafu happens. logged in today to grab my mote, stuff it in my vault for one of my other toons, its not at the postmaster. ok..wait..where is it then? not in my inventory, for sure not in my vault.. I try plugging it in again, says already redeemed, click to visit profile/redeemed codes. ok, I eagerly click on the page, spot the recently entered code, its got a big fat 'redeem' button. I click, and promptly get 'This offer requires a linked Destiny account attached to your profile before you may redeem it. Please link a Microsoft/Xbox Live Account or PSN Account that has played Destiny to this profile to proceed.' ok...now I'm a bit worried, as because as far as I'm aware, I could NOT play this game without an account already linked. I'm an XBOX one user for the record.. so I click confirm..and THIS is what I get 'You require a linked ###Platforms.None### account in order to perform this action.' now, after two weeks of waiting for my mote of light..I'm roadblocked by bungie's own system. ok mr wizard..now what do I do? I'd like my mote of light please. edit: and apparently I cannot tag my post...for traveller's sake bungie! *draws autorifle and inspects it pointedly*
