The problem with the new system is that it forces you to choose between two sub-par combinations no matter what subclass you run, as someone who switches often between night stalker and gunslinger hunter sub-classes but loves close range fighting, I was able to customize my health and class abilities so I could combine everything I loved abut the class with ease, now my former play style is much more difficult because I have to pick and choose between what I want to give up. All in all I feel like the destiny team tried to make every subclass easier to use but made them all weaker for it, yes in D1 the skill tree system had a learning curve and required testing to perfect, but that's what I loved about it because once I finalized my class I really felt like I had made something unique a optimized for my play style, now I have to choose between the lesser of two evils.
