Spicy Ramen.
Everyone loves ramen.
Especially homeless Guardians. Like me.
Ramen is the good shit.
Ramen is love.
Ramen is life.
When I arrived in Tower North and saw the Spicy Ramen shop... destroyed, battered, literally on-fire!, I got on my knees and wept.
I sobbed.
I bawled my eyes out.
I caught a glimpse of a strange, wet sensation on my hands and asked myself, "What is this salty discharge?"
After pulling myself together, I looked up at the shop's flickering neon sign, hoping it would shine a glimmer of hope.
It did.
"Send... noods?"
No.
In a flash, I saw a bright light and a ethereal figure descended from the clouds, dressed in robes of noodles, a crown covered in ramen ingredients on its head and holding a bowl of ramen and chopsticks in its hands.
"What troubles you, Guardian?" It asked.
"The.. Ramen shop... it's gone." I replied. I was beginning to tear up again.
"Hmm, how so?"
I explained what happened to the shop, hoping this being would understand. It took frequent slurps of its bowl of noodles and hummed approvingly.
"Does that mean it understands or is it doing that because the noodles taste good?" I thought.
"Both, Guardian."
I froze. "You- you can read my mind?"
"Of course I can. I am a god. Did you think I was just a figment of your imagination?"
I opened my mouth to reply but nothing came out. I was shocked. It took me a while to process what was going on. "What? So,y-you're real?"
I can't believe this is happening.
"Yes, I'm real! Can you not smell this delicious bowl of goodness I cradle on my hands? Does it not make your mouth water? Tell me, Guardian!"
"I mean, well, yeah... I-I guess," I was unsure.
"Do you doubt me?"
"I- I..."
"Make up your mind, Guardian!" Its voiced boomed through the clouds, awakening my senses. I mustered up my courage to speak.
"I do not doubt you. And yes, Ramen god, it does look very appetizing!" I knelt to the.. ground? Clouds? "Please forgive me."
I heard the being sigh. "You must be hungry."
"No, no, I am alright," I lied until I heard my stomach growl.
The being chuckled and waved its hand, telling me to follow it. "Your stomach says otherwise. Come, come."
From there, we journeyed together to its home, passing through the Vegetable Forest, Meat Mountain and the Sea of Broth, until, finally, we reached Ramen Manor. Ramen god led me through large corridors and wide hallways, filling me with wisdom and knowledge of recipes and the ways of the bowl.
Finally, it was time to say goodbye.
Ramen god handed me a bag of seeds.
"Seeds? For which vegetable? All of them?" I asked, staring at the bag.
"No. Scallion."
WAIT WHAT SCALLION?! GREEN ONIONS WHA wHAT IN TARNATION
"Scal-sc-?"
"Yes! Scallion's! Green Onions! They are the most important ingredient!"
"I-"
"Go to the Farm and plant these seeds. Once you have done so, report to the Gunslinger, Cayde. He will give you further instructions. Now, go! Be great!" He began to disappear.
"Wait-wait, the Farm? Wha- Ramen god! What do I-"
The last thing I remember and ONLY remember from the Ramen god was a distant, "Spread the noods!" and he was gone.
<< Ok, so, basically, what I'm saying is, Bungie, please, add a Spicy Ramen vendor in the Farm. Hell, a food truck would be nice. We can actually use glimmer to buy bowls of noodles that work as consumables. I've had this idea since Destiny 1 so I was hoping Destiny 2 would incorporate little interactions such as these.
Have Guardians say, "Yo, wanna grab some grub before we go? Can't go to battle on an empty stomach, ya know."
"Hell yeah! Let's go!"
Guardians can bond, not only through the activities we complete, but... noods. I mean, noodles. We can bond over ramen.
Ramen Festival.
For the Ramen god.
Have Guardians dance around the fire, holding a bowl of ramen, chanting, "NOODS! NOODS! NOODS!"
I'm sure everyone, especially Cayde, would like that.
FOR THE NOODS!
