Is it wrong that I don't like it because it's a spear, not a sword or a knife? I'd probably go gunslinger anyway but I remember in D1 that I would constantly argue with myself on weather gunslinger or blade dancer was better. My fellow hunters, what is your opinion on this new ability?

It still reminded me of blade dancer by the movements. Seems pretty cool, but I only played around with it on the beta.

Edited by Cry: 9/3/2017 1:22:02 AMWould like the option to choose between weapons, but spear is fine with me.

I dig the staff. The acrobatics involved with swinging the staff looks pretty great, and in terms of functionality I think it seems as good as the knife.
-
I like pole dancers. Hot, naked, pole dancers.
-
i only used arc strider originally for tough team based strikes or raid for invis for easiest revives, i always liked golden gun only with celestial nighthawk but nightstalker became main class. As for D2 version i like it quite abit i think has much potential i'll just need to see how it goes compared to other classes, think it might be go to in PvE though
-
It's very strong if you know how to use it.

The staff really doesn't bother me much to be honest. Donatello form the ninja turtles used it, and he was always my favourite when I was younger. I think it is fun to play. Just feel it could use more team viability, or it is going to be worse than blade dancer.
-
I wish they would stop jumping over me.

While is like the arcstrider's innate dodge melee, dodge melee combo, i personally do not like the staff and wished if were the old bladedancer, especially considering all the knife related stuff weve seen with hunters in general (gunslinger throwing knife +perk, and obviously bladedancer's sneaky assassin style) then all of a sudden wham we are pole weilding monks who channel lightning, where is the connection.

Edited by Hydrojinn97: 9/2/2017 10:37:03 PMI wish they made a brand new arc super for the hunter. It's just a bladedancer reskinned with better movement and perks. It should've been new like the dawnblade and sentinel.
-
I liked it but I would have preferred to have at least 1 NEW super like the other 2 classes got not 3 re-worked subclasses
-
I loved it. Infinite dodge/punch loops, & the super is like turning Destiny into Tekken for 15 glorious seconds.
-
Pole dancer..not impressed.
-
I'll use it on my hunter until I unlock Nightstalker

Edited by SaferMurderweapon: 9/2/2017 11:15:17 PMI like the staff. The aesthetic and moveset is pretty cool. My only complaints with the class have less to do with the super itself and more with Hunter as a class in general and needless to say, they include Arcstrider. Firstly, Way of The Warrior is really something Sentinel can do but better in regards to both their melees. The whole chain dodge melee thing in Way of The Warrior to keep your health going seems nice, but Titan can just punch heal punch heal punch heal (the Titan's heal also applies to allies btw making hunter's almost detrimental in some cases) while skipping the dodge part which doesn't really help hunter in PvE anyway in regards to evasiveness. You don't even need your melee ability since the base melee already does what you need unlike in the Way of The Wind tree which disorients enemies. The dodge reset can be pretty powerful, but the dodge doesn't feel like an actual dodge and it's just a cooldown / free-reload utility with a very nice and well done animation I might add slapped onto it rather than an evasive ability which is disappointing. In D1, enemies would target the location you used to be in mid dodge but now track you through it even in midair trajectory melees like Pilots in Titanfall grappling you in midair and kicking you in the face.. And it had a much shorter cooldown. Wasn't spammable, but much more reliable and made more sense. But the real merit of Arcstrider which I find to be pretty powerful is the insta-reload on dodge. Being able to just dump ammo into a boss while punching an add giving you a free dodge is gonna be huge for damage, especially with rocket launchers. In my honest opinion, that's really the one and only thing Hunter seems to be going for it without getting into the third subclass. It honestly feels to me like they just don't know what to do with Hunter. You would expect a flashy devil-may-care playstyle that just worked but right now it's all flair and so little function. I'm fine with there being a cooldown attached to the utility of dodge, but there should be a separate internal cooldown for the base dodge without the special effect like in the first game and it needs to work like a dodge. Might as well just stand and take the hit if you're only gonna get hit anyway. At least you can shoot back. Makes more sense to dodge your own reload animation than to dodge gunfire. In summary, Gunslinger's simply live to Golden Gun (see bottom GS path) and Arcstriders just punch something in the face to get a free reload. That's about it.

I'll probably main arcstrider until i get my hands on a celestial nighthawk.

I found it fun to use

It's cool
