What's up with people blaming the storm on sin?

Storms have existed for longer than the Earth has been around let alone humans. They're like volcanoes and are a product of us having a decentish planet. It's a design flaw on Gods part. But ay, if I was omnipotent I can't say I wouldn't do the same. Why can't all Christians just be the ones that at least acknowledge that there's no supporting evidence and all god did was place us here? Way less contradictions with him supposed to be all loving that way. I guess it's because I live in a country where on last years census 'no religion' was the most ticked box and all the dirty atheist germs made me lose 'faith' but the whole concept of blaming sin on people is like a kinda elaborate white guilt attempt, blaming people for something they couldn't control. Also if this didn't have enough 6am tangents, didn't Jesus die for our sins? Doesn't that do something?

  • I could not tell you and I grew up in the church. When natural disasters happen, people look for answers. The easiest answer is "this is a result of sin."
