So, I know it's a beta and I guess performances issues will be be fixed over the time but I wanted to report it.
Here is my config roughly:
CPU: Intel 2700K (not overclocked)
RAM: 16Go
GPU: nVidia GTX1080
Sound Card: Creative SB X-Fi Titanium
Monitors: 3x Asus 27' (1080p@60Hz)
Drivers: up to date (385.41)
Also, please note that I run the game in 1080p despite the three monitors (not 5760x1080).
The three monitors are plugged into my 1080 so I know that graphical ressources are more used in comparison of a single monitor setup. I'm aware of that and ready to lower a bit the graphics. But I was unable to get a constant 60FPS even with great sacrifices.
Here is what I tried:
- On the default settings, the game is set to run on 4K (what the heck) with personnalized settings so I don't exactly know how high they were but even with lowering the resolution to a normal 1080p (borderless full screen window), the best I could get was ~20FPS, more often around 12FPS (yes that's low).
- I tried to lower the settings at the lowest available and got a 30FPS at best, but most of the time a struggling 20FPS. BTW on this mode the game is still gorgeous so I could actually believe that some bug prevent the settings to be updated. I don't know
- With only two monitors plugged, the results were exactly the same (even though the pressure put on the graphical card is -logically- significantly lower).
- So I had to litterally unplug two of my three monitors and here, I was able to get an acceptable 40 FPS. But even at minimum, no 60FPS (or for a very short time, like max 1-2s).
The processor could be the weak part of my PC (or at least that's what I thought first), but Destiny 2 doesn't seems to be very CPU-demanding (I was at 12% CPU usage max). So my guess right here is that Destiny 2 has serious trouble to handle multi-monitor setup. I usually run games with a totally correct framerate (even the poorly optimized Dishonored 2 had no problem to show a solid 60FPS with all my screens plugged).
Still, I can't understand how a GTX1080 is struggling to render a 60FPS. I'm thinking that the problem might be on the hardware support. I hope it's a problem the development team is aware of and that it will be fixed on launch. I have no problem with it being present on a beta but as much as I love Destiny, not being able to get a 60FPS even with big sacrifices on a GTX1080 would be unacceptable.
Thank you for your reading (this is not a rant, please don't react as if it was one, I'm just reporting a problem I had with my configuration).

I tried a few thing more: - I'm not exactly sure of my diagnostic but it appears that borderless window could be more ressources-demanding (is that possible? Seems odd to me). When running on classic full screen, it appears that the framerate is slightly more stable. - Also, I logged my GPU usage during the gameplay and, without being able to get a stable 60FPS, my GPU usage doesn't get past 30%. It's not exactly surprising considering that I have a GTX1080 but on the other hand why the heck am I not able to reach 60 FPS ? I kind of wonder if it could be a program running on the background that Destiny 2 don't like (according to other user review found on this forum and on reddit, I should have a butter smooth experience with my configuration). I'm still going to do some tests.
