This is a revised version of one of my previous theories regarding the traveler and its origin as well as its connection to the Darkness and the Worm Gods.
My theory is as follows, the Traveler we all know, is really a prison for a Worm God known as Alpha Lupi, for those who don't know, the Grimoire card The Traveler one, tells us of Alpha Lupi, (which means leader of the Pack or First Wolf) which basically tells us the history of the Traveler, which we can use to form a connection between the name Alpha Lupi and the Traveler. The card goes into detail, saying how it must now turn to its children to help it, but more on that later.
Now I believe that sometime in the long forgotten past, there was only ever the darkness, and it chose the Worm Gods to act as its emissaries and enforce a deadly artificial selection. Now around this point, Alpha Lupi was very disgusted by these actions, and especially when it was one of the Worm Gods chosen. In its disgust, Alpha Lupi rebelled against its fellow Worm, but was defeated. In its defeat, Alpha Lupi was imprisoned in a lead and electroweak matter sphere the size of a small moon. Why? To add insult to injury. Not only would the Worm Gods continue their conquest, but they would bring Alpha along. As the Eons went by, Alpha Lupi began to learn about the Light as Light is connected to Life itself as we know from the taken King subclass Storm Caller, which says to channel the light inside all living things and use it. Where the Darkness is the absence of Light.
Finally, the Worm Gods met the race that would be their downfall. The Harmony. During the Worm Gods attack, Alpha Lupi released its Light outwards, wounding its fellow Worm Gods and empowering the Harmony. It was with the help of the Harmony that the traveler was able to imprison the Worm Gods inside a small moon like orb, and sent it adrift in near Harmony world orbit, leading to the orb gaining mass and becoming the Gas Giant Fundament. Later, the proto hive found the Hive gods and gained the powers of the darkness. What powers exactly? The power to summon bolts of Arc,Solar, void light and even be reborn from the dead. Seems to remind you of someone, doesn't it?
During this time, the Traveler was teaching the Harmony how to deal with the Worm Gods if they should ever awaken. Creating the God Wave to kill any race on Fundament, keeping them from awaken the Worm Gods, which the traveler didn't get to accomplish as the Worm Gods awoke and attacked the Harmony. With the Harmony defeated, the Traveler fled, trying to find a race it would teach and train in order to defeat the darkness.
After leaving the fallen to died to the darkness, the traveler finally reached earth. Where it found humans, whom it believed would be able to defeat the darkness and why it stayed when the darkness attacked earth.
Now as I said, the traveler needed to resort to needed to use its children to help it defeat the darkness. Now this is where the connection gets stronger. The Worm Gods gave the hive power through their larvae, the Worm Gods children. And what are the traveler's children? The ghosts. And what do the ghosts do exactly? They revive humans, creating guardians who do what? They can weild the void, solar, and arc subclasses and survive death. Interesting isn't it?
This is my theory so far and is up for revision. Feel free to give me your feedback and feel free to add anything or take anything away as you will. In the end, it is just a theory.
(I'm sorry I made a grammatical error regrading the Harmony. Everytime I mention the harmony, I actually meant the Ammonates. They were the first race the traveler touched so please excuse my mistake)
Thank you for readings my theory

No bruh Black garden was inside the traveler. Then the evil Activision gods decided there must be more money in chopped up story for DLC.
