I've come to a few realizations recently.
1) people who habitually act like this are just above average players who are raging from a recent stomp
2) 75% of people who play Destiny are douchebags by nature

agreed

I classify as (2). I love T bagging, it's the physical form of trash talk. It's like spamming 'What a save!' in Rocket League just to take the piss, I love it
-
You are part of the problem
-
Is it really a problem though? It's a game man, and trash talk has always been in games.
-
It can be funny when done to friends, because that's what friends do. Otherwise it's just being a dick for your own entertainment, which is pretty sad. Getting off on annoying others? Really?
-
I laugh when someone else t bags me, and I laugh when I t bag them. Idk if they get pissed or not, but if they do they seriously need to grow up. T bagging is fun
-
Doesn't bother me, it just shows the mentality of the player if they get a kick out of doing it. How exactly is it fun? The fun part for you, I assume, is annoying the other player? Isn't that a sad state of mind when you get a kick out of annoying a complete stranger? That attitude in general is one of the big problems in our society today. See an opportunity to be a dick and grab it firmly with both hands.
-
Well yes but that's what competition is like. In sports people try to antagonise their opponents all the time.
-
We're playing a game here, and you're making this into something else entirely. How does T bagging show whats wrong with this society? Like honestly, listen to yourself
-
No, I said the attitude of being a complete dick, just for someone's own amusement, is a growing problem in general. Being a troll on the internet, t bagging random players, and similar antics, are all spin offs if this same attitude. You won't understand this point, because you are, by your own admission, one of those who enjoy being a dick.
-
So if you're competing with someone, whatever it is, are you always really respectful to your opponent? Because I don't think they'd respect you for that. They would probably think they have a psychological edge over you. Which they would.
-
A decent sportsman is respectful, yes. There is often a "banter" before the competition, but this is usually for the benefit of the public and the hype. Doing that for yourself is pretty sad.
-
Edited by jjdillinger: 8/15/2017 8:27:50 AMIt's not even limited to verbal and body language. Even in amateur sports people try to injure their opponents. You must have seen it yourself, people looking to prove themselves to be physically (and psychologically) tougher than the other. In pro sports it's more extreme because of the money and glory involved. And if anything pro athletes are going to be less "sporting" and decent than the average bod because of how ruthless it must be at the top.
-
A good athlete wouldn't try and injure their opponent to get an advantage, they would probably be more disappointed with an injury because the competition would become unfair, and the outcome tainted. But, comparing a crappy unbalanced fps shooter to pro athletes is probably wandering a long way from "relevant"..
-
People, athletes included, just aren't that chivalrous.
-
A lot of people are, but they're a dying breed, which takes us back to the point raised in my post...
-

-
You went to the bother of quoting me, then only half quoted it, then try to call me out on your half quote 🙄 Read the full statement again.
-
That's how I took it, and the rest of the statement was irrelevant to my point.
-
You cut the quote at a comma, makes it very relevant to the point being made.
-
I edited the post, but it still doesn't change my point the slightest, actually furthers it. You categorised both trolling on the internet and t bagging, saying both are from the same breed.
-
I didn't say breed as such, but yes, I stand by that comment. They stem from the same attitude, gaining pleasure from annoying others.
-
Also, being a troll on the Internet is something entirely different to button mashing O/B on your controller. For you to use that to justify your argument, jeez.
-
It's t bagging man. I'm sorry, but if you get salty from some t baggers then you're -blam!-ing pathetic (unless you're 12 which I don't think you are.) Shit is being blown outta proportion, and if you consider me a dick for T bagging, so be it.
