Tired Old Man needs to Vent his Spleen
Onkies, let's lay the ground work. I'm a so so player, been with the game since RoI. Worked my characters to level 40 from scratch, mostly playing solo. I don't give a rat's behind about K/D's. I know mine is in the tank. I play to have fun and work the story/quest lines in PvE.
To fill out my RoI Achievment Book, I needed a Completed Trials ticket, and the Wrath of the Machine credit. Of course I need it by Monday night. Of course none of which can be done solo. A couple of friends said they'd help, but life got in the way.... so I tried creating a fire team. I wont do that again. Had a couple guys sign up. We started early,and things didn't go well. Mind you my first trials.... We got wiped the first two matches, before I was removed from the fire team....unannounced. Ironically I had been the last guardian standing most the time......Ya know... a simple 'hey dude, you ain't hacking it, could you please leave" would have been sufficient.
So as I finish up my quests on D1 and start playing D2, I figure I'm gonna have to miss out on over half the game... I aint doing LFG anymore, too folks that don't seem to know what a fire team is.....
Well, I've vented my spleen.........Lemme get back to tying up what loose ends I can before going back to work.

Being old is no excuse for not attempting to meet people that also enjoy the game. Old whingers don't get my sympathy, get off your ass and make some friends. Sincerely, Another old bloke

Lfg was ok till year 3 when the player base died, now mainly kids know everything but never done it !

Don't let a single bad experience ruin the franchise for you. Two of my best friends I found over LFG back in the days of crota. I've talked to them almost every day since.

Couldn't do trials or wrath, so gonna miss out on 50% of D2. Makes sense.

Don't let a couple jerks ruin it for you, there's plenty of nice guardians willing to help out. I'm busy today but I could run Trials with you and maybe set up a raid run tomorrow. The WotM page of the book needs more than 1 run to complete though, just killing enough bosses takes almost 8 runs. Send me a PM if you're interested

1 ReplyI hear you. I play solo most of the time and my friends list seems a bit useless these days as 99% of them have achieved everything and moved on. I didn't do the trials page or the raid page and a dozen other things due to lack of team mates. That sucks but I'd come to expect it would happen. I can't keep up with the younger players so I just do the best I can and enjoy myself rather than worrying about spoiling their fun or having a KD of this or that. It's just a game.
