Dear Bungie,
I'm currently playing the Destiny 2 beta and having a lot of fun. BUT, there is one problem I have which is warlock jumps. In Destiny 1 I played as a warlock most of the time because of their great abilities that were super fun to play with and the one problem was the glide. In Destiny 1 the glide was already the pretty bad between the three classes, but it was still very fun to use. Now in the beta it appears that in Destiny 2 the warlock glide was nerfed. Now the glide feels nearly impossible to use and is udder garbage. I'm now contemplating on changing to a titan just because the jumps on the warlock are extremely terrible and not as fun to use as before. I ask of you to please buff the glide or return them to their original state. I hope that many others share my opinion and that Bungie actually sees this and takes it into consideration.
sincerely, Warlock Main
p.s. After playing with the warlock a bit more I've gotten used to the jump and agree with the people who say its fine. I'm mainly complaining because the glide feels slower then when it was in D1. This is also just my personal opinion and how I thought others would think.
p.p.s. I continuously keep adding and editing this post. The more feedback I get the more I contemplate this topic. I've overall been complaining on how the jumps were different in D2, but in the end I think I can live with how the glide is now. I just wish that it was a bit faster and the different glides (controlled, burst, and balanced) felt different because as of now they kinda feel the same.
Sincerely for the final time - Random Destiny Player

The entire game was intentionally slowed down. This encourages staying with your team in PVP. I was a huge fan of the warlock's glide in D1 due to the fact that you could manipulate the jump to gain some incredible momentum. I still play as the lock in D2.. Use the mida tool and the Boots that give you speed and the glide will also increase in speed. But, it is nothing compared to D1.

The jumps are atrocious and the low gravity is cancer. I just want to reach the damn other point of my jump within a couple seconds, not 10.
-
I agree the jump seems weak. I use the glide a lot in D1 and it would get me out of a lot of trouble. In the wretched eye strike for example, you are able to cover the boss fight room and create separation from the ogre quite easily. While playing D2 I didn't feel like that would be something you would be able to do. Also they lowered the number of jump activations from 3 quick taps to 2 which shortens your overall distance. I however do like the ability to glide downard slowly, I just don't think the jump on either the watlock nor the Titan will get you out of trouble like it did in D1. The best jump is the hunter period and hands down.

You have a built in twilight garrison....😅
-
Angel of light in the D2 beta makes glide too floaty and still gives you inaccurate shots. Assuming it can be deactivated in the full game it'll be fine, but that's the main problem I'm having with glide in the D2 beta, has me as a strict voidwalker in PvP.

Edited by BaconRiot: 7/27/2017 11:54:36 PMAgreed, warlock special jump in D2 beta was pretty bad.
-
Pretty hard to judge from a pre-defined beta offering. All classes felt crappy. It was particularly noticeable the second it went public. We can only hope it was a poor representation of the real deal.
-
Glide is much better in the beta and its actualy usable unlike the destiny 1 glide.
-
As a warlock Main in D1, I always got salty when people talked about how bad the warlock jump was. It's great! You can get around so fast and be so accurate! Just takes some practice and skill. Now Oh boy Now you see just the slowest piece of shit ever, if you aren't using voidwalker, and aren't using blink, you are practically putting a death sentence to yourself

Edited by Spike8796: 7/26/2017 3:55:06 PMI'm sick and tired of people saying the warlock jump is the worst. It's amazing, and they made it even better in D2. The glide is good IF you know to use it. (And apparently no one does...)

Fly fly little warlock. You took my -blam!-ing Garrison anyway and expected me not to notice. Not in my tower! Sincerely, Zavala Titan Vanguard

Slow moving, too floaty in the jumps and don't even get me started on how bad nova Bomb is now.
-
I -blam!-ing hate Dawnblade because I usually aim to stop gliding but I can't do that thanks to Angel of light 2.0 (can't remember the name). I don't know how many times I've died in PvP because of that perk.

Edited by Nintentard: 7/26/2017 2:59:14 PMNo one is going to say anything about that, "nova bomb"?
-
Use blink exclusively as voidwalker. With the being able to shoot while gliding as dawnblade and the being able to quickly descend i think warlock has the best mobility
-
It takes some getting used to, but is nobody going to talk about how AMAZING Blink feels?
I get it's nerfed and stuff, but it has that 'oomph' I missed in D1
-
Yea feels really slow, and when using the burst jump node it just feels like I'm going at running speed, it doesn't feel like a burst of speed at all.
-
I think part of the problem is this new mobility-resilience-recovery armor-based stat garbage. I very much preferred D1's "inherent trait" approach, where we set our stats in the subclass menu and armor would either boost the stats, like The Ram or subclass-specific chest armor after Year One that boosted the armor (now "resilience") stat, or would have no effect on our stats at all. Having spent the time grinding the strike to get the full set of "heavy" warlock armor I felt a significant difference in "handling" vs the "mobility armor" assigned to warlocks by default. Tweaking the stats would change the handling slightly, but even at "full" mobility my warlock still felt insanely sluggish compared to my D1 build, which focused primarily on Armor and Recovery stats (so pretty much bottom-rung Agility). That I could no longer perform "warlock skipping" to increase my lateral movement speed was also a significant factor. Overall no matter which class I was using they felt significantly more sluggish and unwieldy compared to D1.
-
Glide feels like your character is running and then slams the brakes when you jump. I can actually feel myself go back in time when I jump.
-
We need the focused burst from D1. I'm not trying to be a piñata. I've got places to be real quick.
-
Yes i agree, the warlock glide is very weak compared to the warlock d1 glide. When i was playing warlock in the beta i felt like a floating target when i used glide.
-
"udder garbage" lol, i don't normally comment on spelling/grammar errors, but this one was pretty funny to me. Also, i haven't minded the change to glide.
-
Glide is better than D1 anyone who disagrees is trash or 10 and doesn't understand how to use it
-
the warlock jumps in d2 are great you must be a skater
-
All bad players think the glide is okay smh

I like the new glide, it's much more maneuverable now. You can jump, slow down, release and slow down again. Considering the apparent verticality of D2 (there appears to be a lot of falling from great heights) I think it's a nice addition. How many times did I die in D1 because I couldn't remember if I'd already use the 2nd jump while falling (especially on Vertigo, bloody hell). Also, I like being able to shoot or throw a nade without dropping like a sack of crap.
