Destiny 2 beta feedback: Core gameplay/setup

Seasoned Destiny 1 player here. I played Destiny for quite sometime on the PvE scene through several expansions and would like to compare and contrast some things I saw between the beta and Destiny 1. After playing through the open beta of Destiny 2 on all available classes (presumably with more to come) and completing the strike on said classes I can safely say this does not feel like Destiny 2. This feels like an expansion of Destiny 1. The guns are the same, the classes are the same, the grenades are the same, the core of the game is the same. This looks like a copy paste of Destiny 1 gameplay onto a title that says "Destiny 2". As far as open beta is concerned, nothing really distinguishes the original game from Destiny 2. Similar talent trees to Destiny 1, same weapon types with no real special interaction or change to how weapon types interact other than X mob takes more fire damage. I'm not saying this to rage, I'm speaking out in concern that this is a carbon copy of the original game with a few minor changes here and there with no real individuality from the first game. I hope this taste that is beta was only a very very early draft of what the game/gameplay could actually be. If not, this is looking to be a "Destiny 2" that in reality is another Destiny xpac that has your create a new character.
