Hi, I've never posted here before so if I'm posting this feedback in the wrong place let me know.
To preface, I've generally quite enjoyed the beta, it's different from Destiny 1 and in many other posts people have given their feedback on ability/super charge rates, longer TTK, gun balance and so on. Adding my two cents to that discussion, I would like to see abilities and super charge a little quicker, definitely not to D1 rates but quicker nonetheless. The subject I want to discuss specifically is Warlock mobility, especially in PvP.
All through Destiny 1 I have held the opinion that Warlock jumps have been lacklustre to the other classes. However, because of overall quicker movement and shorter TTK it wasn't as much of an issue. The slowing down of movement has really highlighted to me at least, the shortcomings of the Warlock glide.
While I understand the slowing down of movement in Destiny 2 is to complement the longer time to kill, I feel as if Glide has become even more of liability in PvP than it used to be. In PvE I haven't had an encounter that requires much movement so it's hard to give much feedback there. The crux of the issue is the unresponsive feeling glide gives and how exposed it leaves you when you're trying use your jump to evade or escape out of line sight of your opponent.
Titans and Hunters have jumps that feel immediate and responsive, these jumps also provide far better horizontal movement and the immediate nature allows you to boost yourself around a corner quickly. You also seem to hover less. Where as with a Warlock, I quite often feel as if I'm moving without urgency when I jump.
I do not know how else to define it. I believe I should have confidence in my movement abilities but in its current state, Glide does not instill me with much confidence. It is possible I'm one of few with this viewpoint and others who main the Warlock have no issue with it.
As a suggestion that I personally would like for a more responsive Glide (in terms of speed and directionality) is a bit more speed in horizontal movement, that kicks as soon as I'm moving horizontally. Some thrust behind horizontal movement while jumping. I understand this may not be inline with your vision for how the Warlock class plays but nevertheless I thought I would bring up the topic as playing a Warlock has otherwise been quite fun.
TL;DR - Warlock horizontal movement while under the effects of Glide feels lacklustre. Horizontal movement while gliding could be better with a bit thrust behind it. Jumping in PvP feels like a liability at times. This is my opinion. Others might not feel this way. This is beta feedback.
