So what do you lot think has been the most iconic franchise so far this generation? I don't just mean new IPs, hence The Witcher's presence (I haven't tried it myself, couldn't get into the first two, but there's no denying it's been very popular, and was critically acclaimed).
Basically a mixture of quality, unique design, and popularity. So the first two criteria disqualify the likes of Call of Duty and FIFA, for example.
Or for a dictionary definition:
very famous or popular, especially being considered to represent particular opinions or a particular time.
I'm going to go with Destiny. Overwatch is close behind.

Hmm. Either Destiny or overwatch. Destiny inspired a ton of different games and even though it has a lot of negativity around its it's still insanely popular and has influence the industry as a whole. Overwatch is by far the most popular multiplayer game to release this generation. It still has millions playing and has inspired numerous copies, as well as influenced many other similar games. Not to mention overwatchchas a huge presence outside of gaming as well. Its a social media icon, has numerous comics and short films and a large fan base of people who don't even play the game.
The witcher 3 is great, no doubt. But as a whole the franchise was nothing until the 3rd game came out. For that reason I wouldn't put it up there as most iconic. Though it's certainly up there. Bloodborne is just Victorian dark souls, not a major impact like it's predecessor. Titanfall has certainly had an impact on the industry, rushing in an age of advanced movement systems in modern gaming. But despite that, the game itself has not seen the success it probably deserves. Horizon Zero Dawn is a great action/adventure game, but nothing in it that really puts it up and above the rest unfortunately.
