I'm a solo player and played with all 3 characters with all subclasses in control for countless hours yesterday. In every match I faced anywhere from 2 clan members to full team of 4 clan members and I still came out on top of my teams leaderboards or went positive with high score and kills. This time crucible favors gun skill not 12 players spamming random stickies, heat seekers, icebreakers, abilities. This **** is balanced and smoother, although SLIGHTLY faster recharge for abilities and power ammo wouldn't hurt just as long as it's not too fast.
The only time I went negative (twice) was when using the Hunter class......can't get the hang of it.
My team of 4randoms went up against a full 4 man clan called USSR", thought we were gonna get smashed but they did instead. We stomped them and it's because the map design is easy to follow and move around and having 4v4 made it easy to work together and focus even without communication. 6v6 in D1 made matches a random mess since there are more players going off to go do their own random crap on already poorly designed maps that don't work well with some of the modes in the first place.
With that being said I'm sure they'll introduce a Mayhem game mode which I will also play from time to time.
