So I've read all the reviews and opinions on the D2 Beta so far; I've spotted an interesting trend in the opinions from the ones that are saying it's great and are loving it.
All of these Bungie defenders have sub 5000 Grimoire, No "From the beginning" node unlocked on Y3 MoT and have 1000 Hours or less gameplay time.
You will say Grimoire doesn't mean shit, but it's an uncanny trend that I've spotted.
Any D1 Alpha/Beta Vets with 5500+ Grimoire and 3000 Hours logged have anything good to say about this D2 Beta?
I'm curious...

Edited by Mr Fats: 7/18/2017 10:47:49 PMI stopped caring about grimoire over 1 year ago, mine is still high enough, plenty of raid completions although I havent even done one in over 2 months just about when I stopped playing it. I still have almost 4000 hours logged. I play on Xbox and Ps4 where I have 3 accounts. Game feels slow, boring, repetitive, and short. Now I know is a beta but I was honeslty expecting a bit more content, similar to what we had when D1 beta was released. Besides that I noticed that the strike takes forever, I feel there is little diversity, I get very little power ammo, sometimes I dont even get a single crate in the entire strike, therefore I spend the entire game pressing R2, I am sure that tonight, I will have dreams to the sound of my hand cannon, that sound is all I can hear in my head right now, clack clack clack clack, and even if I stop because I ran out of ammo I can still hear my teammates guns making the same noise... clack clack... I think I am going insane. My fingers hurt as well :s lol Hope it gets better, not particularly impressed so far, I am still to play crucible and see. PvE wise it is nothing to die for, doubt it will hook me up as much as D1 did.

I've played the y1 beta and played y1 y2 and part of y3 stoped after rise of iron By the looks of it it looks awesome more team focused in pvp and pve I like it (this coming from a OW and CSGO player both on PC)

Twas the night after beta, and everything was trash, Many had cancelled thier preorders, Bungievision's stocks, sure to crash. With eight parts nerf, and two parts lag, the playerbase agreed, Luke Smith is a "Why does arcstrider suck?" has been the cry, We all know the answer though,
Bungie lie
So the beta is garbage, and the community in tatters, but forget about that guys, it's Bungie's $$$ that matters. We've all persevered, with this dying brand, we keep feeding these trolls money, and they keep biting out hand. They fail to deliver at ever turn, yet there's still the same old sheep, saying it's my money to burn. It's not just Bungie though, the problem is MUCH broader, the answer is above
My name.
I'm D1 Beta with about 2800 hours but my Grimoire is at about 4800 if I recall (I'm just not that sweaty, I'm more of a casual heavy gamer). Haven't got home to play the beta, but I do have an observation, and that is that this is a beta. D1 beta they made tons of adjustments, I have no reason to expect otherwise with this one. What you see today, like any beta, is not finished. For D1 there were legitimate complaints about story, this is one of the few things I'm watching to see how they do. I also pvp a ton, in Destiny, Battlefield, Madden, you name it, but I have no complaints about that whatsoever as far as Destiny, it is one of the best shooters ever made. Is it perfect? Nothing's perfect. Get gud.

No, I cancelled my pre-order from Gamestop. They have a limited edition without a buyer now. It just sucks that Red Dead 2 was delayed. I'll find something else.
-
Unfortunately not since I'm on Xbox, but I will come back and leave a first impressions review once I get to play.
-
It LOOKS good but I wont be able to actually play it until tomorrow. The story mission looks like fun, unfortunately you can't replay it... Not sure how I feel about the strike, looks kinda boring, but will need to play it first. The PvP looks... Meh? I'm kinda excited to try countdown out but as far as control goes it looks really slow, the weapons also look like they don't do a lot of damage and a lot of people are saying the abilities take too long to charge. It is a beta, so I hope they tune some stuff based off player feedback, but I don't see myself really playing this game religiously like I used to for D1 after I beat the story in D2's current beta state.

Week 2 players here, switched consoles around the time TTK came out. Honestly, the beta is great, but needs some getting used to. I remember thinking D1 gameplay was odd at times, but I got used to it. Just like D1, we will adapt our gameplay and hopefully people will realize the potential with this game. I know we have very limited content with the beta, but use it to your advantage. Learn the ins and outs of the crucible maps. Play all characters/subclasses. Lastly, come on September!

One thing I know is i've been here since the beginning, and everyone keeps telling me the game is trash and is going to die. No, I don't care about grimoire score. I don't know if I have 3k hours, i'd be surprised if I did. But I do know people will continue to play this game and enjoy it. There will also be people that say it's "going to die" and such, while still playing it. What won't change is the NACL level of these boards ever...and there's a certain comfort in that.
-
I love the primary game play in PVP, it so nice not getting stuck with a grenade every 5 seconds.
-
Now you're just turning into a cliche. Once or twice is fine, but you're running the risk of becoming boring. Just a heads up.
-
Complaining about newer players opinions and you don't even have have max grimore smh... Kappa
-
Nothing crazy, it's a beta. I enjoyed it but I don't think I will play it very much. However I don't understand why there is such a devision right now. I guess people are just looking for reasons to hate D2 or love D2, via the beta.
-
So you're telling me an opinion will not be valid if you haven't spent a collective four months of your life on a single video game?
-
I'm going to say the beta is good, if it IS good, regardless of how long you think I've been around. I KNOW how long I've been around.
-
I dont see why it would make a difference, destiny players are destiny players.
-
Took a while to adjust to the new weapons and abilities. As a guy from year 1 it's good. Not great, but hey its a beta! Just a tease and hopefully they update and change things to make it better
-
It's still good... Pulse Rifles are quite useful in PvP.
