Today's Youtubers in a nutshell...
Hey, Its yo boi [INSERT YOUTUBER] here with some really awesome exciting news! But before we get into that, if you like this video please hit that like and drop me a subscribe, it really means a lot guys!

He's really the only one that I like; probably because he seems like such a goober/dork, and I myself am a total goober, and a dork. I'm always making stupid jokes, and doing ridiculous voices, crap like that. But, for me anyway, that's a byproduct of raising kids, and still having young kids. They think it's funny, and we have a good time, and crack ourselves up. I'm sure that when they're teenagers, they'll get annoyed at it, and think I'm totally uncool, and they'll be embarrassed by me, because I'm a dork. But, honestly, I don't care. I'm just enjoying the heck out of it now. Anyway, yeah, Blessious is a goober; reminds me of myself. So, I like watching his videos sometimes. So what? You wanna fight about it?

1 ReplyEh, while some can he annoying, it's pretty subjective to just try to throw the entire lot under the bus except "your favorite". This is a relatively new type of business, and so people are learning. Plus, they also don't really have to stick to whatever games *you* like. That is the problem with a lot of the criticism leveraged at them, it's often completely hypocritical or harshly critical with no real helpful advice, so some end up becoming more and more artificial in their content, which ends up biting them in the butt. Some people like short videos, so content creators make scripts to keep their rambling down and get called out for having a saying or jingle even when that is part of having a script. Or some want more personal in depth analysis and people complain that the vid is too long because woe is me I clicked on a ten minute video and it was ten minutes. Which is pretty ironic with the stuff people will watch for hours sometimes. Really just shows how the "get the entertainment you want right now" type of culture youtube spawned has its downsides, people get too antsy and spoiled if someone doesn't fulfill all their tickboxes for what they want at the moment.

I feel this is a direct shot at Kakis. Which makes me lol. The problem these days is that [i]most[/i] Destiny YouTubers (and I'm not talking about the [i]Destiny Lore[/i] YouTubers, they actually do a good service) make unnecessary lengthy videos out of 30 seconds of information. Especially these days, with D2 right around the corner and everyone devouring the tiniest bit of info like starving orphans at Thanksgiving. If they're not a major gaming outlet (IGN, Gamespot, and so on), Planet Destiny [b]-OR-[/b] Patrick Casey, you could honestly do just fine ignoring a majority of the Destiny Youtube content, [i]at this point in time[/i]. Again, I'm not directing that at the Lore community on YouTube either (though, MyNameIsByf is one of those Lore content creators that is starting to make videos lengthy about things he doesn't need to).

37 RepliesThis is a funny title, because the only Destiny youtuber i have even considered entertaining lately is The Jez, and its because of all the "In a Nutshell" videos that he's made. The problem with most of these Yters is that Destiny is the ONLY game that they cover. They essentially become cheerleaders for the game, rather than being a voice of critical analysis, because their livelihood is attached to YOU being excited for the game. So, even if its a mundane bit of "news" they spew it out like its important because... well.... they need to pay their rent and eat. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Any YTer that has only 1 game that they feature can't be fully trusted. They are essentially a mouthpiece for Bungie, even if they pretend to be a mouthpiece for the player.

Kj was pretty gifted if not the most talented sniper on youtube period, tv was very educational for casuals and mtash was the most entertaining and kept it the realest towards the decline of destiny matchmaking and the frustration on the game from a PvP PoV. It was nice watching them get better from time to time throughout the course of the game. Kj was always like a 0.01% player I knew that the moment he made his sniping video in y1. Mtash just got better to the point he was more than worthy of being up there, but he was also the more entertaining out of the three and took the youtube format to another level for destiny, got to the point where he's at bungie's pocket but is decent enough to be honest with his viewers unlike other destiny youtubers. TV started out just about a standard above average but imo was way overrated in the start because casuals looked towards him as some kind of crucible god when he was just revealing things basic 2.0+ players did. He got better as the game went on, but he's no kjhovy as he's the least technically skilled out of the three but has the highest exposure within the community. Still a great player though, just overhyped in comparison to the other two.

You forgot to include a ten minute discussion on how to sign up for a PS4 giveaway that the channel will inevitably run for a year (and re-discuss at the beginning of every one of their videos) before awarding it to one of their close relatives.

You forgot to add that the YouTuber spends 9 or so minutes doing the shoutouts, typically dubbed over some Crucible footage, then spends a minute and a couple seconds talking about what the video is supposed to be about. And then the thumbnail is typically some irrelevant thing with red arrows and red circles all over it to make it look like it's something important.

Everyday I go to Google, type in destiny 2, hit news, and any new articles for the day or videos are right at the top. I didn't have a problem with streamers, but they're taking away the fun for others without intending to. My cousins little baby girl does not play with dolls. She goes on YouTube and watches other people play with her dolls and they add voices over it. Instead of her using her imaginiati9n to do that herself.
