Hi everyone …
I have decided to make my own detailing everything we know about shoulder charge so far. (As of the IGN PVP Vostok reveal)
General
- Shoulder Charge is a selectable perk in the second striker skill tree
- Shoulder Charge takes away melee charge on connection
- Shoulder Charge still requires a sprint charge up
- The melee charge flashes after a shoulder charge connection (I'm guessing during this time period the normal melee charge is still available; pretty interesting)
- Shoulder Charge requires melee to be charged up
PVP Benefits
- Mobility
- Tracking/Leaping higher damage melee
- Can be a 2 melee kill combined with a standard charged melee (5:05 in video)
PVE Benefits
- Mobility
- Tracking/Leaping higher damage melee (don't know PVE damage boost)
All info as of July 13. Keep in mind this was an old build, and there might not even be Shoulder Charge.
Feel free to have a general, logical discussion on how you think Shoulder Charge should be played out. Remember Destiny 2 has a different sandbox than Destiny 1.
I main a titan, it is a broken mechanic in PvP. Just stop with all the whining people. You can now use it to melee twice for the kill. No other class can do that, so just be thankful.
-
You should be able to choose between: Shoulder charge that OHKs but takes melee cooldown Or shoulder charge that doesn't do damage but is simply for movement (no melee charge required)
-
It takes melee energy if you hit someone. Pathetic. Just another nerf due to pvp whiners. I understand this is a new game but this change is super obvious.

Edited by DarkNightMares3: 7/14/2017 7:47:58 AMI wish they would stop nerfing Titans.

Shoulder charge was a risk v reward ability in D1 that would be useless if not a 1 hit kill. D2 may be different but i feel Bungie just should have removed sc from the game rather than rendering it useless.
-
Sorry but skating is gone so scratch mobility off that last. Also in PvP everything you said was a benefit will actually hurt you. If I'm playing against good players they are going to team me well before I kill their friend. There is actually no point to using it tbh.
-
As a Striker main for PvP don't really mind it tbh. It was pretty OP seeing how it OHK others.
-
I SC'd a newly activated Sunbreaker super in crucible yesterday with PG and that 1-hit kill was satisfying af. SC should stay but there should be limits. I'm all for it counting full melee energy on hit. Also needs a buff for PvE.
-
So where is everyone seeing this three hit melee kill at? I haven't noticed it in anything I've seen
-
It is still good. It just takes a little extra work. You can use the mobility to surprise them with the shoulder charge and quickly melee them for a quick kill. At least it's not gone where you have to 3 melee them to try to get the kill.

Edited by TwoFiveOne_: 7/14/2017 10:05:41 AMCorrection. Shoulder charge does not take away melee charge UNTIL it hits something. Once you connect the shoulder charge, the melee charge goes away. The guy connects a shoulder charge towards the end of the striker portion

I'm thankfully not a fan of pvp I found it slow and dull in D1 but fun on occasion. D2 pvp looks like a good cure for insomnia, looks more like a paintball arena than a supposed gladiator battle. The more annoying aspect is the watering down of everything that made Destiny fun to suit the neutered, generic pvp. D2 isn't a new sandbox its the same engine as D1 just watered down. If D1 was a traditional sausage D2 would be the over processed budget shit for a dollar you give the kids.

IGN played on a different build.. they were sent this build by bungie. This build has been confirmed to be older than the one played at guardiancon.. going to laugh when there is no SC [except in super], and no blink..
-
The problem isn't the SC nerf, it's that the new subclass system traps you into using SC if you want extended grenades and super area of effect. It ends up being a large nerf compared to what it could have been.

Edited by Shirtless_Captain_Kirk: 7/14/2017 10:28:16 AMAnother shoulder charge nerf because of PVP crybabies if you ask me. Bitches
-
This will make Peregrine Greaves all the more usefull in PvP as an exotic. Equip it to 1 hit KO just like Khepri's Sting can.
-
Just In case no one made you all aware in this thread ...... titans suck ass

*groan* My Hunter main finally had some time off from getting shattered from all of the shoulder bumping. The cast isn't even off yet. ( ;-;)

Bump for knowledge
