He seemed out of line, I think. I don't have audio here, maybe the dogs were growling, but I don't think he should have opened fire on them. Get back over the fence, or punch a dog in the face because you're a grown ass man (officer of the law) who can probably take a dog in a fight instead of killing it in its own backyard.

Depends on what kind of dog it is. It's not as easy as "punching it in the face"... have you ever watched a police video of someone trying to fight those dogs? They're grown ass men and it doesn't work out well for them.

According to the follow up article, he was wearing a body cam, and they also say the dogs "charged the officer." I'd love to see the body cam footage, because the publicly available video certainly doesn't show [i]any[/i] aggression on the dog's part. Based just on that video, the officer was completely out of line and deserves to get sacked.
