Pretty much. On paper, a number of things sound bad, but I prefer to criticize after launch. I look at D2 like a Bob Ross episode, sure that line or colour doesn't quite fit, but by the end it'll become a happy little tree or blended into a nice reflective lake.
Besides, if the game is literally unplayable at launch, then there's other things to play while they fix/ignore D2's problems. As of now, the only thing I see as a potential problem for D2 is peer to peer connections over dedicated servers. Understandable they didn't want to make the initial investment (hella expensive for a game this size) but it could cost even more to make that switch later.
Here's hoping D2 is up to par with people's expectations (those looking forward to it anyways).
