I'm over thirty hours in and am so close to saying I love it. DONT SPOIL THE STORY FOR ME. Aloy is a great character (and cute :P ), the world is absolutely beautiful, combat is challenging, the lore and narrative are thus far quite fascinating, and the four hour long musical score is amazing. Its my first Guerrilla Games game; they have done a knockout job with what might end up being my favorite APRG, beating all four Assassins Creed games I've played and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Not many of those, yeah, but whatever.
PS: This is the first APRG I've played on PlayStation. I bought my PS 4 Slim in February , which is my first ever Sony console. Previously I last played a PS back a few years ago at a community college I used to go to. No Destiny for me there...thats on Xbox.
My next main quest is The Grave Hoard. That should give you an idea where I'm at. I'm spending a lot of time on side quests as well as the main story.

I love the game the only thing I wish they would change are the mouth/ talking animations and that the conversations would flow a bit easier. I'm currently doing game+ on ultra hard (very frustrating) and it's my 5th time running the campaign and I'm up to the grave hoard as well

This game is why Sony is the best company for gaming. Giving devs creative freedom is something you always need to do. Microsoft needs to take a note on this one.

Just returned it to gamestop. I freely admit that I suck with bows and arrows, and never did get that trap laying device down. In all fairness, I did enjoy a lot of the game. But I game to have fun, and, well, some of those machines did not make it fun for me. Good luck. People who have more gaming talent than me (I'm an old fogie) will love this game, IMHO.

Best game this year and one of the most original ideas in a while

Just started replaying in the New Game+ mode on ultra hard. You get to restart the game with all the gear you got the first time through. Weapons and armor have four mod slots and you can unlock some new stuff like face paint. One tip I will give you is to bank as many shards as you can the first time through. Stuff is expensive in ultra hard.

Freaking love that game!! If you're at the grave hoard and want a tip
look for the power cell for the ancient armor quest
Otherwise make sure to explore everywhere!!! I totally forgot about the story mission until I was about level 40. Pretty much had completed almost all side quests before starting the story after exiting the sacred lands. Enjoy the game!!! Let me know if you have questions!!

Persona 5 is better...

I'm level 40 and about 50 hours of game time and I love every minute. This is my game of the year for sure. I like games like this and Tomb Raider where you can kind of go off and gather resources and hunt. Far Cry Primal was another I liked similarly to this. The hunting challenges are a lot of fun and I like delving in the ruins. I wish this was on my Xbox so I could share clips with my friends.

Edited by FrostD: 7/8/2017 8:47:10 AMI don't know about the challenging gameplay part, but when you're ready to talk story spoliers and even some theoretical lore hit me up. I honestly didn't expect the story to be as full and complete as it was.

Here. Eagerly awaiting the new DLC that was announced at E3 last month. Horizon Zero Dawn is what can happen when you give a game developer the freedom to take risks....and the TIME they need to really create and POLISH a game. They occasionally put out patches that they claim are bug fixes....but I've never actually ecountered any bugs in the game. Its THAT polished.

When you run across your first Thunderjaw - that's pretty darn cool.
-
Loved Horizon Zero Dawn it's the first game I actually cared to platinum. Can't wait for the DLC
-
It's great, I just beat the main story not too long ago. Looking forward to DLC and platinum
-
Looks friggen gorgeous on a Pro - HDR tv setup aswell. Probably the best looking game i've ever seen
-
Gonna start NG+ Ultra hard mode soon.
-
I beat the main story but I just can't get into the side quests 90% of the time
-
I started it last weekend, just got to the part where Aloy is made a seeker, it's great, I bought my PS4 for Nioh and Horizon.
-
It's a great game and i can't wait for the DLC. Would love to start a new game plus, but it's one of those games for me, that you only play once.

You learn to really love the tripcaster. That thing is hands down one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
