Here is a quick list of questions about the Exo Stranger that remain unanswered, so that people who don't understand what the fuss is about why we care. And for context, allow me to explain why I'm interested in asking. The Exo Stranger was there at the very beginning of Destiny, during the Vanilla Introduction, as I think of it. She was a directing and driving force, and a large influence in that portion. If she was not important, they should not have given her this driving position with unanswered questions and then left them unanswered. So anyway, here are the questions:
If she says, "Our fight is far from over," then where is she in helping us in this fight? Who was she talking to on Venus? Does she have one ally, or many? Is she part of a group we don't know about? Where is she from? When is she from? Everything we know from her seems to have temporal oddities, so is she a time traveler from the future? Where does she keep going? A ship, a city, or just forward in time? If we're important enough to time travel and come see, what is it she's trying to help us accomplish? Just killing the Garden's Heart? But she says "our fight is far from over". How has she survived so long if she is not forged in light? Does she use time travel to avoid fights? What is it that's taking up so much of her time, so that she can't explain basic information to us? Who is the them when she says "don't let them find you" to who we must assume are her crew when she's not explaining on Venus? Is it just Vex? Is it Hive? Fallen, Cabal? Something... else?
There are even more questions than this. And I mean, the grimoire does that too, but the Grimoire is meant to be outside the game, The Exo Stranger is presented as central. And we want answers.

You forgot the "Teleporting Minotaurs" option. All hail Siva!

She was a dumb bitch, who gave us a shitty gun. Who cares.

Edited by Lord Fried: 7/5/2017 1:39:45 PMThe Stranger has been exited properly.

Bigger question, why the hell does everyone want to hear more from her so badly? Everyone complained that her story was terribly written and shoehorned in and made fun of it so finally when bungie decides they won't go back to it everyone wants to see more now? I don't understand you people

Question on topic: Do these questions need to be answered? Do we need to know who she is and who she was talking to for 2 seconds? Do we need to know where she went and what she is doing? It seems like she is on our side and doesn't like the Vex, so what else is there to know? There are unanswered questions, yes, but do these questions need to be answered right this second?
-
And the biggest questions: AC or DC? Either way, does she put out?

In the original story the Exo Stranger was an assistant to Osiris. She might still be related to Osiris in some way. It would explain her abilities as well as her vested interest in the Vex.

Edited by twirlypen: 7/3/2017 2:13:06 AMThough I never thought so at the time, I feel the Exo Stranger's story was tied up with the NTTE exotic quest. During it, Praedeth states that he can see the Exo Stranger in every timeline. This led me to believe that her cutscene in A Stranger's Call, where she states "Too late. Returning. How many? Hold position, kill the engines, and don't let them find you", she is not speaking to someone in another location, but rather someone in another timeline, and that someone is Praedeth and he has just come across a gaggle of Gorgons. So while the story may be tied up like Bungie claims, it was certainly not nicely and it was something we had to figure out for ourselves. We still don't know where she came from and how she became involved with Praedeth.

We'll most likely find out in d3, or maybe in a ttk like expansion in d2.... who knows. Bungie is definitely going to keep her a secret until their sales start dropping.

She had a purpose ... she fulfilled her purpose ... she then left
-
Nope. Story is complete. All questions have been answered. Clearly you are confused. Go home.
-
Just because she is not coming back in D2 it doesn't mean that we won't find out more about her.

Destiny 3 confirmed

Did you not pay attention to the terrible vanilla story? They don't have time to explain. They don't even have time to explain why they don't have time to explain.

The Exo Stranger is nothing more than a plot device assigned way too much importance by the fanbase. She has connections to the FWC and the Ishtar Collective. She's likely one of the members of the original Ishtar Collective and there's hints allowing us to speculate at multiple ones. Nothing more needs to be said because that's just enough information to connect her to the world and not make her out of place. Her sole purpose within the narrative is to point is in the direction of the Vex. She did that, and now she's back in the background.

You can't alter the future too much, m8.
-
She's stuck in a paradox because of the vault of glass, her "paths her own" because she can't interfere with us because it may change the past or future
-
Well you will have to explain how she has no time to explain why she has no time explain. She says this because she is a paradox, she isn't supposed to be in out timeline. Thus she has no time to explain why she has no time to explain BOOM!
