343i Gives Halo PC Fan Game, Installation 01, Its Blessing
TL;DR Installation 01 is a Halo fangame for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It aims to recreate classic Halo multiplayer. 343i has said they like the project.
Ask me anything about i01, I'm a 3D Art Lead :)
Note, one funny thing about that IGN article is their usage of the phrase "legally backed" we don't have a contract or license or anything, we just have open comms with them and a good relationship.

IO1 is a fan made Halo game for pc that aims to recreate that Halo 2 - Halo 3 feeling. 343i, Bungie and even Microsoft have offered 0 help to this game (except 343i hosting a forum section on their site). now i dont hate 343 or anything but they did NOT create this game. that title is bs.

I think it's great 343i and, or, Microsoft are allowing this. I don't think I'll play it, I don't have a good enough pc these days. However, as a gamer, it's great to see passionate fans that will attempt to drive forward franchises I care about, keep up the good work.

Congrats! I was afraid 343 would shut this down, it looks like a really cool project. Unfortunately I don't have a PC or the means to get one currently, but I'd buy one just for old school Halo combat if I could lol.
