Vanilla:
1) We still don't know who the Exo Stranger is, who she is talking to, or what she is doing.
2) We know nothing about the Vex's origins, their motives, or their leaders (besides Atheon).
3) We don't know what the Darkness is (and neither does Bungie atm).
4) We don't know anything about the Traveler's true nature or origins.
The Dark Below
1) Omnigul can undo her death, given the right conditions. We don't know what these conditions are, therefor it may be possible for other Hive to do the same. This means Crota and Oryx could potentially return as future adversaries.
House of Wolves
1) SIVA being used to resurrect and improve notable Fallen foes means the same could be done for Skolas at some point. Combined with the Vex tech he used, he could be immensely powerful the next time we fight him (probably worthy of becoming a raid boss).
The Taken King
1) Oryx's Ravenous Heart is now in the Touch of Malice, which will be seized when the Cabal kick us out of the Tower. He could still return.
2) We still have the Crystal containing a piece of Crota's soul. Maybe we could turn this into a weapon too? If we do, I hope it's a sword like the one Crota wields in Crota's End.
3) Eris Morn leaves the Tower between the conclusion of The Taken King and the Cabal Invasion. She's out there doing something, but it might be a while before we find out.
4) The Awoken Queen is MIA. Presumed dead in-universe, but we know she's alive somewhere. Personally, I hope she comes back in disguise, so we don't realise that it's her at first.
5) The Queen's Brother is off doing something with the Fallen, but we don't know what.
6) Taken are still an issue. Cabal from Red Legion are being Taken, this means they have a new leader with the power to Take. A bit too soon for Oryx's return, likely someone else.
Rise of Iron
1) SIVA still exists, it's still a problem, and the Fallen may not be the last to abuse it.
2) Aksis wasn't the one in control after he Perfected himself. Someone else was pulling the strings, and besides Rasputin (highly unlikely) we have zero suspects.

Another loose end is why the Nine release Skolas after the queen gifted him to them?
-
Crota, Oryx and probably Omnigul are ascendant hive. This means once they are killed in our world, thier soul lives on in thier throne world. Both Crota and Oryx have been killed in thier thrones worlds so they can't come back (well not through those means anyway). It is unclear as to whether Omnigul has a throne world but she most likely does as she came back into our world after being defeated, As we have not visited her throne world she coukd cone back once again as long as there were some Hive left to start the ressurection ritual.

Edited by Gucci: 6/28/2017 4:55:42 PMOne of the main reasons Taniks was able to return with the help of SIVA was that he was already far more machine than Fallen. That being said, SIVA was essentially able to use the bodies of some of the dead Iron Lords against us, fully animated. It's unlikely it would happen with Skolas, but not impossible.

Still hard for me to trust he speaker. We have no idea who or what he is apart from the vague things he says about himself. We are missing any backstory or answers on his true nature

Fallen origins

Just a few thoughts Maybe the queen had the Device and Dead Orbit found it. Maybe theStranger is one of the scientists and was talking to the other scientests who have manipulated time in some way to allow travel and not just viewing of timelines. The Stranger maybe became an exo after her lover died (or more likely went crazy using the device and seeing some messed up future… or the darkness itself)as a way to use the device wothout going crazy (cause an exo can just do a write erase then start from their basic personality again) and figure out a way to counter manipulate space time against the vex. This we may never know, unless bungie pulls the vex storyline more into the overarching darkness story line instead of just using them for filler Eris is most likey tracking down Osiris, a way to revive Toland, and or Oryx's sisters. This could be attributed again to the idea that the awoken have the device and have used it to find that(even though gary is a pretty big immediate threat) the darkness has an endgame in store thaat must be prevented. Would explain why the Queen went so far out of her way to delay oryx. The Nine are probably like the god things from Sabriel(not really good, not really bad. Just part of the nature of the universe), just Bungie'd up cause they have such a hard time making original stories. Rasputin may turns out to be related to the origins of the exo, a means with whicj to turn back the darkness, all of which was predicted when time travel was experimented on during the golden age. May be even one of the original exo and the only one to never be mind wiped These are the kind of thought that keeps me up at night or super productive at work.

what about the queen?

(TTK) Don't forget that we still don't know Osiris' end of the plan made between him, Eris, and the Queen to stop Oryx and the Darkness. In fact, we don't know any of his plans at all, just that he started Trials to prepare Guardians for difficult challenges (HoW) We also don't know what the Nine's plans are, or why they released Skolas. We know less about the Nine than we do about Osiris (RoI) We don't know why Rasputin went silent, why he didn't stop the Fallen from claiming SIVA, why he didn't reclaim control of SIVA after the Fallen integrated with it, or why he didn't do anything to stop the Red Legion from destroying all of our satellite systems and attacking the City. What is he up to? (RoI) We also don't know what's going on with the colony of pacifist Guardians that Lady Efrideet told us about We don't know what the Awoken are hiding in a facility in the Reef that drove a crew of Dead Orbit scouts mad and is worth killing trespassers over We don't know what FWC has found in their experiments with the Device or what their plans are, or the results of sending a Ghost into the Device (RoI) We don't know who Lysander's supporters inside and outside the City are or if he's managed to rebuild any of his forces. The Concordat will live on as long as he does Aaaaaand we don't know why the Tower decided that they didn't want to allow celebration of the Crimson Days in the Tower anymore (WHY U DO DIS BUNGIE?!) _________________________________________ Here are my revisions to what you've already listed: We know that what the Stranger is doing is trying to stop the Vex from defeating humanity and taking over the universe. We know that the Vex's motive is to ensure their existence in all timelines, specifically by finding a way to come out on top in all timelines. However, we do not understand their plans for doing so because their algorithms and strategies are so complex Omnigul may not be strong enough to have a sword realm, but she is a Deathsinger, meaning that she spends most of her time studying ways to prevent her own death and to kill others. Unraveling her death is a pretty simple task compared to hiding your death or creating an Oversoul as the other Deathsingers have done. When we killed her, our goal was to temporarily get rid of her so Crota would be weakened. It's already been determined that Crota and Oryx have died true deaths under all the right conditions, so cannot be revived SIVA does have the potential to find Skolas' body and use it to create a new warrior, but it cannot revive Skolas. SIVA actually kills whatever it takes over. The only reason Taniks had consciousness when controlled by SIVA is because, according to Variks' special dialogue from the Taken version of the Strike, Taniks had been mostly machine from all of his body modifications and had transferred his mind into the ship's systems, so he just moved his mind back once SIVA had reanimated it I don't see how the Cabal could revive Oryx if we couldn't. If anything they'll destroy the ToM like all the others A Crota sword would be cool, but I think we used up all of Crota's essence when disguising our scent to enter the Oryx's throne realm I agree with every other loose end you marked down
-
If Bungie does some bull crap to bring back Oryx, I don't care how they make it happen, I will not play it. I killed that SOB myself in his throne world, he is absolutely dead. If they bring him back it means they are willing to reuse any enemy or game asset, and that is just pathetic

Edited by Patriot121: 6/27/2017 2:57:30 AM
1) We still don't know who the Exo Stranger is, who she is talking to, or what she is doing.
The Exo Stanger is a former member of the Ishtar Collective. Which one is unknown though there are hints pointing towards at least two different scientists. She has connections to the FWC and nothing else matters because you're putting far to much importance on a character who exists for no other reason that to further the plot by pointing us in the direction of the Vex.
2) We know nothing about the Vex's origins, their motives, or their leaders (besides Atheon).
Where the Vex originates is neither here no there, as they've existed for so long in so many timelines theres almost no way that a satisfying answer can be given without being riddled with Paradoxes. They simply are. As to their goals, it is in their own words 'an emperor to all outcomes.' To gather all data, and run infinite simulations using said data until they have a contingency plan for every single possible scenario that ends at the very least with continued Vex survival.
3) We don't know what the Darkness is (and neither does Bungie atm).
As per the Book of Sorrow we know it is simultaneously a philosophy, a fundamental force of existence, and a sentient entity. It is locked in eternal war with the Light over what the tow belive is the perfect existence. The Darkness believes perfection lies in the extinction of everything except itself, the Light in a universe much like our concept of utopia.
4) We don't know anything about the Traveler's true nature or origins.
Its a massive sentient machine that champions the will of the Light much as the Worms champion the will of the Dark. Whether it is the only one of its kind is unknown, though it is probably not the Light itself, just a champion.
1) Omnigul can undo her death, given the right conditions. We don't know what these conditions are, therefor it may be possible for other Hive to do the same. This means Crota and Oryx could potentially return as future adversaries.
All Hive can be resurrected provided sufficient sacrifice is given to call them forth and that their souls are not destroyed within a Hive Netherrealm. Niether Crota nor Oryx can return as they died true death in their Throne Worlds. Omnigul died only a mortal death.
1) SIVA being used to resurrect and improve notable Fallen foes means the same could be done for Skolas at some point. Combined with the Vex tech he used, he could be immensely powerful the next time we fight him (probably worthy of becoming a raid boss).
SIVA is never used to resurrect the dead, or at least not in the way you're implying. Neither Taniks nor the Abominations of the Iron Lords were resurrected, their bodies were just used as a skeleton of sorts for SIVA to use as a platform. Taniks could do more and was more like Taniks because at the time of his death very little of Taniks was organic to begin with, with almost everything being replaced by machinery at that point. Skolas' body could be brought back, though Skolas himself would require a retcon.
1) Oryx's Ravenous Heart is now in the Touch of Malice, which will be seized when the Cabal kick us out of the Tower. He could still return.
The Ravenous Heart is Oryx's Worm plus a small sliver of Oryx himself. It is just enough so on the meanest basest level the entity that was Oryx continues to exist. That said, existence is not life, and even if we obliged his plan for pseudo-immortality (which we thwarted by refusing to Mantle the Taken King) the entity that returned would not be Oryx as we knew him. It would be something else entirely, a new entity created by merging Oryx and his killer.
2) We still have the Crystal containing a piece of Crota's soul. Maybe we could turn this into a weapon too? If we do, I hope it's a sword like the one Crota wields in Crota's End.
Possible, though that seems a waste.
3) Eris Morn leaves the Tower between the conclusion of The Taken King and the Cabal Invasion. She's out there doing something, but it might be a while before we find out.
All we know about Eris is her obsession with the Hive, and that she has worked with both the Queen, Osiris, and Ikora in the past. I imagine we'll get mentions of her but she wont return to the foreground until the arrival of Xivu Arath, Savathun, or the ascension of Toland.
4) The Awoken Queen is MIA. Presumed dead in-universe, but we know she's alive somewhere. Personally, I hope she comes back in disguise, so we don't realise that it's her at first.
I imagine the current plot with Variks, Uldren, and the House of Kings will play out more before she finally re-emerges.
5) The Queen's Brother is off doing something with the Fallen, but we don't know what.
He's been accepted into the House of Kings at the higher echelons. What this means remains unclear but it'll certainly have a role in Variks' Kell of Kells plot.
6) Taken are still an issue. Cabal from Red Legion are being Taken, this means they have a new leader with the power to Take. A bit too soon for Oryx's return, likely someone else.
In addition to the various claimants alive within the Hive, Toland seems a likely canidate eventually, though I hope they don't blow that plot point this early.
1) SIVA still exists, it's still a problem, and the Fallen may not be the last to abuse it.
Info from Destiny 2 confirms its still around in some capacity. How much of an issue remains unknown. The only production facility we know to exist has been destroyed, so with what we know now it should be a dwindling threat as it can only decrease in numbers.
2) Aksis wasn't the one in control after he Perfected himself. Someone else was pulling the strings, and besides Rasputin (highly unlikely) we have zero suspects.
How I always interpreted Aksis' cards with regards to his ascension was as SIVA gaining a kind of pseudo-sentience. See, SIVA needs a mind to function, and the only minds we know that were hooked in was Rasputin, and Aksis. Rasputin was disconnected so that leaves Aksis. While SIVA cannot gain sentience of its own, that doesn't mean it cannot affect the mind of its user, which may have been why Rasputin, the only Warmind outfitted with it, was able to become 'more' than the other warminds. As a result, when Aksis took command he was shaped into a new being, making it so Aksis was the mind in control, but that mind was no longer truly Aksis, if that makes any sense.

Vanilla: 2. The Vex exist outside of time. They always existed and they will always continue to exist. They want to turn everything into Vex data-machines. Every planet and hunk of rock. They don't really have any 'leaders' because they are a hive-mind. They are a single unit. The Dark Below: 1. Omnigul was never killed in a 'Throne-World' therefor she can easily be resurrected. Hive must be killed in their personal spirit-realms to be vanquished, as it happened to Crota and Oryx. Crota and Oryx are truly dead and gone. House of Wolves: 1. The SIVA forge was destroyed by the 'guardian' (you) in the story. Skolas was captured, imprisoned, sold to the Nine, then captured again (by the guardian) then killed in the Prison of Elders. He had a rough story but his is over. He was not "more machine than Eliksni" as Variks described Taniks. The Taken King: 1. Oryx's Ravenous Heart was just a worm-god that was giving Oryx power, but somehow I doubt that the Cabal (currently obsessed with the Light/Traveler) would tinker with a manifestation of Darkness. They have been active enemies of the Hive/Darkness for their story-arc. End of story. 2. (The Crystal) Unitasking item is unitasking away. Came in, did its job, and left. We took a Hive QR code and snuck into Oryx's frat-house. Simple as that. 3. She is out there studying and spying on the Hive. She has made it her life-goal to stop the Hive from winning. Seems a simple end to her story for me. She got her revenge with the death of Crota and helped defeat Oryx. Her job is done. 4. Awoken Queen is deemed Killed-In-Action. We don't know she's alive somewhere. She is presumed dead. Petra Venj has assumed direct command of the Reef currently. 5. The Queen's brother, Uldren Sov, is rounding up Fallen soldiers and actively searching for his Sister. He is searching in every out-house, hen-house, doghouse, waffle-house in a 200 AU radius. 6. (Taken) Given that it seems an active event during Destiny 2, I would guess that we will receive something of a note on this subject. This seems like a thread that will be continued, not loose. Rise of Iron: 1. The SIVA forge was destroyed, so no more SIVA. The Fallen will exhaust their supply and their Archon Prime, and Prime Servitor were destroyed. 2. Aksis was destroyed in the Perfection Complex and he was the most powerful Fallen/Eliksni at the time. No one was pulling any strings. He wanted to achieve 'godhood' and become machine; to equal that which he worshiped, the Traveler. No loose thread there. Archon Prime is here, Archon Prime is now dead. Another Fallen entity may take his place, but Aksis's story is over. Some other story threads that are relevant/incomplete: *Osiris and his cult. He is still a player due to the presence of the Trials of Osiris. *Rasputin is an ongoing story subplot and I doubt it has been put on the shelf. He has been involved throughout Destiny's story. *"The Nine" are a mysterious subject, but I doubt we will get a story-arc about it since that would shatter the mystery surrounding them.

What about the speaker? There has always been one, but we don't know who he is at all.
Vanilla: 1) We still don't know who the Exo Stranger is, who she is talking to, or what she is doing. True. 2) We know nothing about the Vex's origins, their motives, or their leaders (besides Atheon). They are radioloria. How the Hive got to the Moon. How Oryx felt after finding the Traviler nearly dead after chasing it for millions of years. WHY IS NO ONE ASKING THESE QUESTIONS?????? I'm starting to think people forgot about these.

I want to know what Amanda Holliday is working on. She sends you on a fetch quest where she says "I'm working on a...". She then shows some exasperation and says that the ghost has the details. Actually, this happens a lot. Never mind.
-
Edited by Moot: 6/26/2017 11:39:00 AMWe do know the conditions for Omnigul's return, actually. Omnigul was able to return because she was only killed in the real world. Both Crota and Oryx however were killed in their respective throne worlds and thus neither of them can return.

Bungie should grow up and address these unanswered questions in Destiny 2's DLC 3 & 4 Also I'd like to see where Xur goes in person
-
Isn't oryx himself dead, and we more or less made a deal with his worm to create touch of malice? So technically part of him will live on forever, but not him as a whole. I might be making this up, but I remember either reading or hearing it somewhere that if enough sacrifices are made, any ascendant hive can be brought back to life? Also what about Oryx's sisters? They still seem like a looming threat. And we also don't know anything about the speaker. Considering the feud with Osiris and distrust, there's a huge hole that needs explanation. And the awoken. The queen is still alive.

1. True, but I can go ahead and assume she was built in the future where the Vex have wiped out most resistance. And since that world won't happen anymore, she never existed, but gave us her rifle to insure that the destruction of Heart will always happen. She also sent us the NTTE to remind us about our new timeline's direction... but that's just my theory. 2. All has been, is being, and will be revealed in due time... 3. We can infer... but you're right. 4. True. 5. If anything we can resurrect Oryx ourselves by understanding him... since that is his thing, like Xivu Arath was with War and Savathun was with Trickery. I mean those latter two is how Oryx resurrected them, even after they died in their Throne Worlds during the Hive/Ecumene War. 6. No, Skolas isn't Vexy enough. He just had some on his armor... but that doesn't mean he still can't be alive. Vex tech messes with the timeline so Skolas may still exist in the future. 7. We don't know how destroying the ToM will work on Oryx's worm, and -blam!- we might've revived him already due to our UNDERSTANDING of him. He could just be a super-intelligent Thrall working his way back up. 8. I mean, we already used its power... but I guess it could have other uses. 9. True. 10. I hope she doesn't approve of what her brother is doing... because I hate that -blam!-er. 11. Leading them... for something... 12. They don't need to have a leader, the blights laying around have the power to suck up people into the Deep for the Taking. Perhaps that Phalanx was unlucky. Either way, nobody's going to go that route... probably. 13. SIVA-Vex pls... 14. SIVA having a mind of its own? No... I mean... Rasputin wouldn't endanger the City... would he? I mean... who awakened him? During TTK a Ghost Scan said somebody awakened him recently. Perhaps we will find out later.

Crota and Oryx can't come back, we killed them in their throne worlds from my understanding. Nice job with everything else.
