Anyone else here love bodybuilding?

So I've had a love for bodybuilding for the past four years or so (hence the name), and I really don't know how many others in the Destiny community share that passion. My favorite time for bodybuilding was the '40s, '50s, and '60s. Everyone had their own look. With small waists and massive chests and arms, they really looked like they were sculpted from clay. Reg Park, Steve Reeves, Larry Scott, Leroy Colbert, Freddy Ortiz, and the names go on and on. Even the '70s had Frank Zane, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sergio Oliva, Serge Nubret, Ed Corney. Since Dorian Yates changed the standard in the '90s, I feel like bodybuilding has lost it's way. Long gone are the days of small waists. Now, size gets the prize while proportion and symmetry hardly get into the magazines anymore. Regardless of which era you prefer (even the modern Phil Heath-dominated stage), what matters is that we share a passion for bodybuilding. TL;DR - Do you like bodybuilding? If so, what got you into it?

 • I love working out. It's amazing, addictive, challenging, and great for your health. Change is in the palm of your hands when you workout. You feel different. You sweat and feel pain. You make some gains. You are different. Within a week, even sooner, you see the effects. It isn't like long term goals where you reach a finish line... only to be given a fake trophy that means nothing. When you've tried so hard in life, put all your effort in... but nope... your life doesnt change. The struggle continues... in many cases... career struggles fit this. You have damn near instant gratification from working out. I highly dislike the insane methods of reaching goals of becoming huge though. Injecting steroids or other harsh stuff. A pre workout is as crazy as I get. There's not much utility in being that big. Being sponsored is about as far as it goes, and for competitions...man these dudes just do way too much. Muscles don't win fights either, and it's highly doubtful someone needs to be that strong for any activity. A challenge is great, but if it's to much... you'll feel the consequences when you're older. Some of the old body builders look horrible now.
