It's a weird idea I know, but honestly why not? We already got shaders for your armor. Not to mention chroma and ornaments that can change the aesthetics for some armor sets and weapons even further. Heck, there are even some consumables that can change the appearance of your respawn for a little while.
So why not, eventually, have the option that would allow us to change the color of our subclasses' element/light? I think it would be awesome to see an Arcstrider wielding crimson red lightning in their hands, or the Dawnblade raining down hellish green fire from above, I'd even be curious to see what a Sentinel's shield would be like in golden yellow.
Like I said before, it's a weird idea but I thought it would be interesting to talk about such an idea.
-
yes, this would be cool but i think it might make it harder to tell subclasses apart
-
I've posted something similar about shaders for supers. A black bubble would be so awesome and OP
-
I do think it would throw a lot of people off in those split second encounters in pvp, but it would be a cool pve-only feature
-
I think it would be pretty fun.
-
Chroma is in the top 3 worst ideas bungie has ever had.
-
That would be dope, but highly unfair in terms of gameplay. Making it difficult to tell what class there using or hiding in a black titan bubble would be pretty bad.
-
Well, sounds pretty cool. But titan bubble being black would have an unfair advantage hiding who is inside. Like you can see Helm of Saint 14 so you know not to go in there. but if it was black, you couldn't see. But other than that, no prob with this idea.
-
If it was the color, yeah that be fine
-
Maybe only colors different from those of other supers(aka no purple/orange/light blue) It would be great if the super particle effects changed with the "chroma", lets say green hellfire was used on a arcstrider, the electricity would become green fire instead.
just an idea---
-
A Crimson Arcstrider sounds amazing
-
Only if neon green and happy house yellow are color options.
-
Like some have already said, subclasses need to be immediately identifiable for gameplay reasons. But i'd like to see your idea in a limited sense. Maybe chroma within the subclasses colour spectrum. Arc=different shades of blue Solar= different shades of red. Void=different shades of purple.
-
Everything would just be blue for me if they did that.
-
Very much yeet
yeet
-
At first I was like, wtf? But then it sounded very cool. But I doubt it. I think for gameplay reasons it's important, as someone said below, for the abilities to be immediately identifiable when used. So the sounds they make are unique, and the way they look especially. If we start changing the colours, it may be hard for players to respond to their usages accurately or cause confusion. Really cool idea though.
-
I actually really like this idea
-
Even though I don't main a Hunter I think a glowing black or white golden gun would be so cool
-
Chroma? Are players still using this failed experiment?
-
Cozmo! Ad that to the community-wishlist! Sorry vor mei bäd Englisch
-
FWC tried that it didn't work the test subjects came out fugly and they soon die after the experiment🙀
-
Sounds sick as hell, bump
-
Very cool idea!!! Maybe you can only have chroma on ONE super and subclass at a time and so it's sort of like a way to designate your main or your most stylish look or something? Super cool idea Guardian!!!
-
Sounds awesome. The only thing that I could see as a problem is that people might confuse supers with other supers at a glance if they can be different colors
-
This is an excellent idea. However, Bungo never uses great ideas from their community. Don't get your hopes up too high for this idea.
Bungo, add chroma for supers! I wanna kill things with hot pink lightning!
-
Oh we wanted this way back before taken king came out. Of course bungie didnt listen and decided to do micro transactions. Then released shitty chroma.

I like turtles.
