We arrived on Venus at the Waking Ruins, wondering what we were going to do. Kabr explained that, in order to enter the Vault, we needed to control three plates. Once controlled, a spire would form that would cause the Vault to open. If the Vex stepped on the plates, however, the spire would stop forming.
Kabr took the plate by the door to the Vault, Pahanin took the left one, and Praedyth took the right. I decided to aid Pahanin and Praedyth from a distance with my sniper. Within a matter of minutes, the spire was fully formed, and the door opened. We entered the Vault of Glass with caution, and prepared for the worst.
“Just so everyone is aware,” Kabr began. “We will come to the point where the Vex can manipulate time itself. We will need to defend a total of six confluxes, and then destroy oracles before we can destroy the Templar.”
“What happens if we fail, Kabr?” I asked.
“We will be erased from time.”
With that, we reached the Templar’s well. We witnessed the true power of the Vex. Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Minitours attacked all trying to sacrifice themselves to the confluxes. The Praedyth was the first to die. He was taken by the Vex. There were still three of us, however, so we were able to defend all of the confluxes.
The oracles followed, however, and I was the next to fall. As we destroyed the oracles, a Hobgoblin tore my helmet off, causing me to gaze into an oracle. I could feel myself being written out of time, so I turned to Pahanin and screamed, “Pahanin!” When he turned his head, I was half gone. My legs were no more, as my body was slowly being pulled into the oracle. “Take Jade and my gun! Get out of here! Let Shin know what happened, and, whatever you do, do not forget about me!”
Though he had his helmet on, I could see Pahanin’s terror. I held out the Bane of Ahamkara with my right hand, as my left became like my legs. Pahanin grabbed Jade, and ran for his life. Kabr saw Pahanin fleeing, and he yelled “Pahanin, get back here!”
“No, Kabr!” I sobbed, “I asked him to!” It wouldn’t be too much longer before I was gone, and I knew it. “Maybe one day, Kabr,” I muttered as tears rolled down my cheeks, “We will be avenged, and the terrors inside this horrid place will be gone forever!” With that, I vanished into the oracle. The last thing I heard was Kabr crying “NO!” and reaching to grab me.
I could see everything happening in the Vault. Pahanin running, as my gun fell from his hands. He did not, however, loose Jade. Even though I was lost, I knew that she would find a new Guardian, like how Jaren Ward’s ghost bonded with Shin.
Kabr had made one last stand, however. He drank from the very oracle that I had become lost in. From the insanity, Kabr forged the Agis, and then, Kabr was no more.
If you are reading this, please, help me. There might be a way to get me out of here; I know there’s a way. Save me from this torment. Please…help…me…
