I don't have Rise of Iron, but with the updated weapons and armor I've managed to get up to 358 light. I was playing Mayhem Rumble with a friend when I got a Rise of Iron hunter cloak as a reward. I know it's from Rise of Iron because it has the RoI hammer badge in the top right. Again, I don't have Rise of Iron. So, if that isn't odd enough, I can actually equip and use that cloak. This happened again a few matches later, and this other guy even got the same cloak (btw, this second cloak that this guy and I got is different from the cloak I got the first time around), but he had some RoI gear already so I think he may have actually had Rise of Iron. But getting the cloak again and seeing this other guy get the cloak (regardless of if he had RoI or not) made me think maybe Bungie is allowing everybody to get Rise of Iron (crucible rewarded?) class items. Which honestly still doesn't make sense to me, that seems like a stupid idea. Is this the case? Or did I break Destiny by getting a piece of gear that I wasn't supposed to? :/

Yes you can. When my son plays on my console with rise of iron, he's gets rise of iron drops. Then when he plays on his console without roi, all his stuff is still usable. The nice thing is he can still go back and get the TTK rolls and weapons on his console when he wants

They don't care at this point.

Ok so heres the thing, if you play on a friends system who has RoI. And get roi loot, you will still have it when you log back onto your system. I know this works because i accidentally deleted my roi dlc and still had all my gear on but was limited to ttk missions.
