THIS WILL BE A SERIES OF POSTS GOING INTO THE SUSPECTS, NOT THE MURDER TIMELINE LIKE USUAL. THIS IS DONE BECAUSE IT ISN'T CLEAR WHO THE ZODIAC ACTUALLY KILLED, HE WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MURDERS HE DIDN'T COMMIT, THIS IS ALSO GOING OFF THE ASSUMPTION THAT YOU KNOW A BIT ABOUT THE KILLER(S), LIKE THE NOTES
SUSPECT 2 Rick Marshall
While I can't find much on Rick Marshall's life he is an important suspect to bring up.
It is important to note that most the evidence is circumstantial and the ones that aren't are not that tangible.
All I could find on his birth was that he was born in Texas during the late 20's to early 30's (there are conflicting reports on his date of birth) while this is all speculation I don't believe he had the best childhood, killer or not he was a strange man.
Now if it was a coincidence or not Marshall had a knack for living around zodiac murder sites, during the murder of Cheri Jo Bates talked about in the first post he was living in the general area and in the 1969 San Francisco murder believed to be taken out by the zodiac
During the early 70's Marshall worked at a radio station, the call letters(Check spoiler at bottom of post for a definition) had symbols that would later appear on the zodiac's exorcist note where he called the movie a great comedy (Not even an edgy joke, just a shit one)
Later in his career Marshall would work as a projectionist and would save copies of a silent film (cant find the name) that would inspire the zodiac's red phantom letter. It was also reported that he owned a royal typewriter (see post 1) and would write with both hands, his handwriting also resembled the zodiac's. Marshall also owned a basement, something rare in the area he was staying at, the zodiac mentions that he has a basement in some of his notes.
Marshall would often show people his basement and tell them vaguely that he found a past time 'better than sex' this is was all alleged however.
During 1989 Marshall was interviewed on a tv show acknowledging that he shared traits with the zodiac but also claiming innocence, detectives have also since said that he is a interesting person and suspect but unlikely the killer.
Now my opinion is that he may of wrote some of the zodiacs notes, maybe not the known ones but there were dozens of notes considered fake or made by copy cats after the killer's first note was made public, dna was found on stamps and envelopes the notes came in but as far as I know Marshall wasn't tested, something I also recently just learnt was that the dna that was tested against Arthur Leigh Allen was from these notes and not crime scenes, kinda makes me swing back to believing that Allen was the zodiac and could've always got someone to write his letters.
In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique designation for a transmitter station.
Do one on the murders at Archbishop Keough that the new Netflix series is made on. I know several girls who went there once it was renamed. Pretty wild shit. I also almost feel like I know the police officer whose voice is masked.
