I'm a year 1 player and just got back into destiny after taking a break. I noticed they took special ammo away which was a great idea because most can't hack it if they've got to primary fit a change..
So what do I start seeing? Ladyboys running around with sidearms who never used to use them only because it spawns with ammo. Then the occasional, Icebreaker and Invective. Just like the first time they took out special and you had to gltich the ammo, cuz of previously mentioned ladyboyness. Are most that trash/scared to primary? Crutch much?
-
My warlock just spent the whole Iron Banner going nuts with a SUROS Regime. I mained primaries for years but I still hate the change. I like being flexible, losing special takes thay away.
-
People will claim they're doing it to not be at a disadvantage lmfao.. really? If everyone says that, then who are the assholes who decided to use sidearms/ Ice Breaker because they need special ammo constantly? Someone started this weak shit, that's for sure. People love a good crutch.
-
Ice breaker is the worst. They're absolutely everywhere. Not sure why Bungie nerfs special then allows ice breaker to regen ammo and sidearms to have ammo on spawn. It's pretty obvious what the meta is going to be. Also, snipers were supposed to have been nerfed but i can't tell a difference. I'm blasting a sniper in the head and is still able to get a body shot (and sometimes a head shot) and then quickly finish me off with primary. So frustrating. If snipers are taking fire they shouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn.

I have 24k kills in Trials and only 1k with primary, come at me.
-
Using special weapons is called being smart. Primary weapons are garbage and this game punishes you for using them. Instead of fixing anything, they just nerfed special ammo. So, players migrated over to abilities.
-
I love sniping so in order for me to snipe in today's meta I have to use icebreaker or no land and icebreaker is the obvious better choice
-
All they did was kill loadout variety. The mass shift to Sidearms, Invective and Icebreaker was inevitable. Final nail in the coffin for Fusions too.

I've gotten into to many debates with people about this topic, all say crucible is bad because of the special ammo changes, all have a special weapon as one of their top 3 weapon kills. I will say I love the changes and absolutely dominated in the weeks after they were made but the community is adapting and I'm not going off as much as I did in February lol props to you guys for practicing and adapting to become better players

Some people have fun using special ammo. I have the most fun sniping so in my case why wouldn't I use an icebreaker?

Edited by FrenetiCreature: 5/27/2017 3:37:44 PMI don't know what playlists you're all playing, that are complaining about this. Of course there are at least a handful of the special ammo bypassing weapons in every match, but I see a healthy amount of specials that don't bypass the ammo, also. Personally, I use a Weyloran's March, 1k Yard Stare, or QBB, and I see a lot of other players using similar, non-ammo bypassing weapons. Besides, when I see other players using the special bypassing weapons, I don't care. If they kill me with it, then I screwed up, unless it was a situation where lag came into play, but that's a whole other story. With as often as special ammo spawns, I almost always have special, so I'm not running around thinking, "He only killed me because he had special ammo, and I didn't." I don't know, I guess I don't really think about it much at all. I just doesn't bother me, what other people are using, because usually, if I get killed, it's because I screwed up, and engaged, when I should've ran away, or I had to run across a sniper lane, and the enemy nailed a good shot; either way, I probably would've died, no matter what weapon they were using. Why do I care if they're using special bypassing weapons? I can't control what they do, only what I do. If they feel comfortable using those weapons, and don't want to have to worry about picking up special, it doesn't hurt me. I choose to use weapons that I feel comfortable using. I fully understand the consequences of my choices. I know that there will be people who will have special, during those few times that I don't, but I don't care, because I'll just use my primary during that time. If they kill me, then I should've ran, aimed better, or whatever. Why does it matter to anyone, what everyone else uses? Focus on you, what you use, and how you encounter. You know that there will be some of those weapons within the match, so plan accordingly.

Using sidearms and Icebreaker mainly states they can't even get 1 kill with their primary or even with abilities except for your stickies. I teabag, slow clap, or taunt anyone that uses sidearms and stickies which is telling you and shows you that you have no skill. I mean if you use sidearms and stickies throughout the entire match and barley get any kills 😜😝👏 now that's just sad.
-
A sidearm out guns any primary within its range, you'd be stupid not to use one.

Edited by bFLY: 5/27/2017 5:05:15 PMPeople can't shoot straight. Which is why they favor blind button-mashing with shotguns and sidearms. The special ammo changes were a step in the right direction Imo. I honestly barely see sidearms. They aren't hard to counter if you land your headshots with a primary pulse or scout
-
That is a weak complaint... On saying that the sword missions are a pain without heavy ammo. Use your exotic slot for something to counter.
-
I think you shouldnt judge, since its not their fault they have to avoid 99% of special weapons to actually enjoy the game. Blame bungie.
-
I've always loved Sidearms. My favorite right now is my Zeal Vector. I usually use them when I use a Scout Rifle or high impact Pulse Rifle. I absolutely loathe Icebreaker though since people just camp with it.

Edited by CaptainW1nky: 5/27/2017 2:44:10 PMRofl what? If your running invective you may as well just pick up special since by the time your weapon loads up with ammo special has already spawned. Do you even crucible? Or just make lame posts complaining just to complain.
-
Already bitched about. Nothing to see here. You can go back to not playing now.
-
Ice breaker is almost more prominent than sidearms.
-
Edited by Lord DIO: 5/27/2017 3:45:31 PMit's not like bungie nerfed almost every primary weapon oh wait
-
Edited by Shalltear: 5/27/2017 3:06:02 PMShits boring without skillful onebangers If you make all primaries have perfect accuracy, it would be alright. But primaries are ass atm
-
Occasional icebreaker? What lobbies are you getting
-
I always use my primary first but if you get too close or my mag gets empty while you're too close for me to reload fast enough I'll switch to my sidearm to finish you off. I mean, that's what it's used for right? I'm not really bothered by being killed with a sidearm cuz i still get killed by knee pad sliding shotties just as much. Now those IceBreakers are the real problem...... they're everywhere in every match.
