Title almost says it all.
In Destiny 1 one of the biggest issues (in the raiding spectrum) is that Raids have Mechanics that are NEVER experienced anywhere else in the game.
This is a issue as it adds to the unforgiving learning curve & if you ask me. Makes it just that much harder on players.
In most RPGs be they MMO or Offline.
Dungeons, Missions/Quests, often teach Mechanics to players. Boss battles often forces the players to learn how to apply those mechanics.
Raids force players to figure out how to apply them in conjuction with other mechanics.
Destiny 1 did not.
The Aegis in VoG is a shining example of this.
Until The Nexus was remade in Rise of Iron their was no mechanic to teach players.
Even then, The Nexus does a bad job at teaching how to use it.
I wanted to post this just in case it isn't too late to look into Destiny 2's strikes & have them educate players.
This would make it easier for folks to transition into Raids & Harder content.
And relieve Clans/Sherpas/Veterans of the burden of teaching every single detail.

I think the only time it did teach something at all was in the court of oryx when the boss for that week was mini crota.
