This has bothered me since I started playing Destiny 1. It always lacked that focus on either or, trying to balance things (Guns, Abilities, stats... etc) for PvP while making them worse all around in PvE. This is something that really just needs to stop but we now see it again with the loadout system in Destiny 2.
I just gotta say, Bungie needs to pick a side or separate them. Don't let PvE players suffer because you balanced things for PvP or vice versa. For separation though using loadouts as an example why not just have Primary/Special/Power in PvE and Primary/Primary/Power in PvP? Why can't we have the two modes balanced for themselves separately? Why does PvE need to suffer because (True endgame from lack of content:) PvP nerfs need to effect PvE too?

They are separated, you see any ads or bosses in PvP? They are instances, arenas which are much smaller than the PvE environments, they are even hosted by the players. It's just an excuse to give an illusion that they actually are connected somehow and that's the reason they can't get any performance out of the game/consoles.
