Didn't see or hear anything that made me want to spend £80 on the upcoming expansion *coughs* DLC.
What's everyones' take on the stream?

At least show us the -blam!-ing vendors.

I want to play the Beta ASAP, but I've already pre ordered. Destiny is a game I've been hooked by since the Alpha on PS4. I logged in everyday for 8 months straight before I got a Thunderlord. As someone who enjoys playing with friends and solo in PvE and someone who spent way too much time in Patrol, I'm so excited to see the Lost Sectors and the new exploration features on Patrol. Bungie does 30 FPS better than most developers do 60(lets be honest most games usually yo-yo between 30-60, but claim to be 60.) If those technical aspects are that important, people should invest in a PC or hope for the possibility of 60 FPS on Scorpio. People really need to have realistic expectations for the amount of time Destiny 2 has been in development and what the current generation of consoles are capable of. The reveal nailed it and I can't wait to get my hands on the Beta and the retail release. Destiny 2 looks like more of the good, with refinements to fix the areas that were lacking.

Destiny still doesn't know what kind of game it wants to be and that's bad it sends the wrong kind of message .that said bungee is making progress and that's good I think the launch will be successful and Activision will make money however I will not be purchasing I'm the kind of person that likes to get what he pays for in terms of entertainment per dollar and announcing 2 "expansions" before release tells me what kind of game it will be
-
Destiny has always and should always be focused on PvE gameplay over PvP. Destiny 2 talked to me in the right ways that Bungie wants this. I don't really care about PvP but I can have fun with it. [for those who call me a scrub please look at my crucible stats before speaking] I just want to see not only a great launch but an even better post launch support. I want to see the LiveTeam step up. Destiny 1 at launch didn't really have much of a liveteam until the end of TTK with April Update. More unique activities added post launch that may have enough positive feedback to stick around as more things to do. The liveteam now knows what we are hoping from them, take community ideas and don't play it safe.

Skeptical. Feels to me like we're going full-on Vanilla Destiny 1 again and falling into the same pitfalls of D1. 4 planets, skeleton set of strikes + crucible maps, skeleton set of subclasses, skeleton set of weapons and exotics, 1 raid, 30 FPS. Which game am I describing? D1 or D2? They're selling us a bare-bones game again, and they will sell us the other pieces of a finished game at a later date for more cash.

Edited by mja calg: 5/19/2017 3:22:19 AMUnless Destiny 2 has Regional Dedicated Host Servers, it's no sale for me. I am not putting up with 2008ish Halo Era Peer to Peer One Console is Host for the next 3 + years. EDIT: Just to confirm this. "We do not have dedicated servers for Destiny 2 on PC. " Direct Quote from Bungie interview here: http://www.pcgamer.com/how-bungie-plans-to-make-destiny-2-on-pc-legit-on-day-one/ If they don't have them for PC's, they won't have them for Consoles. So my 276 days / 6,624 hours adventure in destiny has come to a close - no dedicated host servers and I refuse to buy Destiny 2 and play the same crap hole network system as Destiny 1.

Edited by mja calg: 5/19/2017 3:04:06 AMJust in case any of you are interested: "We do not have dedicated servers for Destiny 2 on PC. My biggest concerns weren't addressed. 1. Dedicated servers 2. 60fps 3. Separated pve and pvp Bungie will these three things be in D2?
-
They said they did something to try and fix how half of everyone was never able to complete a raid, and my biggest issue is how they might implement it. Will they make it like normal matchmaking? I'm like 95% sure that it will be awful; there will be people super skilled and arrogant who will leave if you don't have the right gear, light level, wipe once, etc., there will be people you're paired with who don't speak your language, don't have a microphone, and with whom almost nothing can be accomplished, and than that last tiny, tiny fraction of people who you can play with and succeed and enjoy succeeding with. Hopefully their idea won't end up being this. Also, I've realized that I'll only ever have time to play Destiny during my university's Summer and Christmas breaks, which means I miss any short-term events like Iron Banner, Crimson Days, Festival of the Lost, the start of every single new Raid, etc. I don't know how much of a life outside of work the average engineer has, but I'm dreading that I'll have almost zero free time from once I get a job to the day I retire or die. This greatly discourages me from even wanting to play at all sometimes. By the time I have free time, the next expansion will be released, or the next Destiny game will be out, or no one will want to do the old Raid because everyone had people and time to play it with months ago. I want to buy Destiny 2, but I'm not sure if I should or if I shouldn't and just keep missing out like I always will. Now, if they allowed us to dismantle stuff while we're in the menu of whatever new vaults we get, that might change my mind. And will we Xbox players ever get that Echo Chamber strike and grimoire and all that other PS-exclusive stuff and grimoire that we have to always wait a year for?
-
holy shit. 777 votes on option 2
-
They'll just make every expansion paid, so I WON'T get it.
-
i'll be careful. on the D1 reveal, they hyped it up and made it look cool. This sequel could end up like No Man's Sky or a slightly modified D1. Ill wait until the Beta.
-
Ah . I still remember the polls when the first destiny came out. It was quite a different story.

I cannot in good conscious purchase any content; full game or bare bones doled out pay to play content. The hardon Activision and Bungie have for Sony makes it impossible for me to pay the same price as playstationeers and receive a water downed, regurgitated digital helping like a baby bird would from its mother. I can make the adjustment to how we purchase games, I appreciate Bungie's constant attention to the game even if it does cost more than my $60. I cannot however abide the neglect of Xbox by both companies. Prospective PC gamers and Xbox owners beware this marketing agreement makes you a second class citizen in Destiny. I have nothing but praise for the game; it was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences ever and I would love to see what they come up with for 2 but the prioritizing of playstation is not an idea I can get behind and refuse to contribute to. Not to be heard as a xbox fanboy rant , own both just prefer microsoft community. If you feel this xboxers make sure Activision knows.
-
Just want to play the Beta and get a feel for it.
-
I think: It's Destiny with watered down abilities and movement mechanics. With the same subclasses. And I have no idea if I will like that. Just have to wait and see in the beta.
-
Hate it, Console owners time to uprise The Pro and Scorpio could easily run Destiny 2 at 60 fps @1080p res and higher The only reason consoles are stuck with 30 fps for Destiny 2 is so Bungie can run their SAME shtty 30 fps peer to peer network engine. Lock it in PC will have dedicated servers. All Console owners who raised this game have been f'd on. Destiny 2 was in the perfect position to fix all this and now look
-
No dedicated servers, only 30 fps (leaves)

Edited by CaptainW1nky: 5/19/2017 5:25:50 AMI was kind if sad when it looked like call of duty meets overwatch meets doom meets halo..... then I noticed the heavy they were using is the missing exotic that was supposed to be in year 1.... then I noticed one of the "new areas" has been in destiny 1 for a long time on venus you just have to sparrow fly glitch to get to it...... and it looked like it was going to be for the raid..... so I lollllled when the realization hit..... that I just paid money again for cut content. GG bungie you got me again...........
-
I would pay again to be able to play D1 on pc, so the similarities don't really bother me as it's still Destiny + new content. Only thing that bothers me is the pc version coming out 3 weeks later
-
Excited but... Really pissed off about the 4v4 PvP for all modes.
-
So 62 percent of players thought it was amazing, 30 some were like "hey it's alright", and only a handful were disappointed. Sounds like a success to me. Good job Bungo!
-
The only thing I really dislike from the stream is that new Hunter subclass. I feel like it is a re-skinned Blade Dancer, but I can't say for sure without knowing the skill tree.
-
To be very honest, the stream (and the game itself) answered a couple concerns I'd hope they'd tackle: better clan support and in-game LFG. I just need to see the character creator (and my goddamn BEARD), and I'm good to go.
-
I had my collectors edition paid in full the first day they started taking pre orders. If you talk shit about a game that isn't even out, your words mean nothing here, and will be ignored accordingly.
-
PvE content looks pretty good. PvP looks like absolute dog-crap from first glance, and add to that the fact that we're staying at 30 FPS and it appears dedicated servers are not on the horizon... More unbalanced laggy shitfest, yay! I enjoy PvE and all but PvP is really the only fresh thing in the game, as toxic as it might be right now. I want more info (specifically on how this ridiculous new ammo system works) but I'm remaining on the "I'm not buying this" bus for now.
