D2 Feature Request

Little is known about what awaits us in D2. However, something I feel would be welcome addition to the Destiny investment system is a set of skills or a skill tree that offers players the ability to "spec", if you will, into a specific weapon style. This would not only provide users with more variety, but also allow players to build a character to be more effective with a specific weapon than some other guardian who may have chosen a different path, and vice versa. General character skills that offer advancement in different aspects of game play can help builds feel more exclusive and offer players the feeling that there is more to building a character than just a few simple decisions. Edit One more concept format http://imgur.com/njUiIyJ I decided to create one more new concept format. This one would allow you to upgrade and pick each option similarly but it would save the Element damage addition until almost the end. Then once you have chosen the element you want, as seen in the picture, you would have an option of 1 of 3 perks to pick from. One of which would always be double down for the element of choice. Meaning if you spent all the time to complete your weapon pathway you would be a beast with that weapon style. Examples Guardian A loves Hand Cannons - chooses perk that increases all damage done with hand cannons - chooses perk that increases agility while using a hand cannon - chooses perk that grants 1 extra perk on hand cannons when equipped - chooses perk that grants extra armor while in close proximity to enemies Guardian B loves Scout Rifles - chooses perk that increases all damage done with scout rifles - chooses perk that increases scout rifle range - chooses perk that reduces scope sway when hit - ...the list goes on This can also be implemented on other aspects of the character as well. Such as: Guardian A loves agility and the ability to run fast and jump high. - chooses perks that benefit those characteristics while Guardian B just wants to face tank everything but doesn't care about move speed - chooses perks that will increase armor and the associated characteristics Of course these perks would most likely have to be ineffective during crucible play just to keep crucible easier to balance. These skills would be purchased using points you earn as you level up and such. (If they wanted to take it a step further, they could even allow the perks to be able to level up continually, indefinitely, making you more and more powerful. But considering that the enemies would then have to increase in difficulty to keep the game challenging, that may be a little beyond the scope of a Destiny game.) Please tell me what you guys think in the comments below. I'd love to have some more thoughts on this idea. Edit Decided to add this because it could be important: The war over primary elemental damage could be solved with this system. Essentially as you pick a weapon path and begin to build it, eventually you could earn the ability to apply elemental damage to that weapon style. However, all other primaries would still have no element when you use them.
