Edward and Gale walked back to the shuttle stop, waiting to go back to the Tower.
"So, how was dinner?" asked Kelly.
"It was great. Great food, great music, but total disregard for hunter effort." Edward patted Kelly.
"Ed, you overreacted." said Gale.
"Did not. All I did was ask for a twelve ounce steak." Edward shifted his stance.
"Twelve once?! That is something a titan would order!" exclaimed Drake.
"Don't you start." snapped Edward.
The shuttle docked and let the guardians board.
They got off and walked around the Tower. Edward and Gale were walking to the barracks while Drake and Kelly followed behind. Edward noticed and glanced at them. "Ahem. Kelly, up front."
"Okay." said Kelly as she floated up front.
Edward walked away.
"I don't understand why he is being so protective." said Drake looking at Gale.
"I don't know Drake. How about you let Ed and I have a night of fun." Gale gave him a smirk.
"Uh, no ma'am!" said Drake demanding.
"Exactly." Gale walked off.
"What?... Ohh." Drake caught up.
"Hey, Daddy! It's Eli. I haven't seen him in a long time." Kelly floated around Edward's head eagerly.
"Alright." Edward and Gale walked up the stairs.
"Greetings, guardians. How may I help you?" asked the Speaker kindly.
"Hello, Speaker. We were actually hoping that we could see Eli. How is he?" Edward shook the Speaker's hand.
"Eli? Of course, but make it brief. He is not well." the Speaker took a step back and let the guardians talk to his ghost. They walked up to the table and saw Eli hooked up to some computer device.
"Hey Eli. How are you doing?" asked Gale in a soft voice.
The ghost slowly floated up and turned around. "Hello." said Eli bluntly.
Edward walked up. "Someone wants to speak to you." he held up Drake and Kelly.
"Kelly?! How's my little sister?" Eli was excited to see family. He floated over and gave Kelly a hug.
"I doing great! No new adventures, though." Kelly giggled.
"You got a hunter. Trust me, some adventures are waiting." Eli looked at Drake. "Hey, man! How's your kid?"
"She's growing on me, man." Drake pretended to cry. "Even getting into territory I don't approve of."
Edward threw his arms up in disbelief. Gale looked at him and laughed.
"I hear you, Drake." Eli laughed at Edward's reaction.
"Do you two need any assistance?" asked the Speaker.
"No. Just wanted to say hello." Edward looked to the Speaker.
"Well, it is getting late. And you new recruits have a busy day tomorrow." the Speaker put his hands together.
"It is getting late." Edward looked down at Gale.
"Yeah, and I still need to get some supplies." Gale pulled out a checklist.
"I'll go with you." Edward looked to the Speaker and Eli. "Have a good night!"
Edward and Gale walked down the stairs when Kelly tapped Edward's shoulder. "I'm going home."
"Okay. Keep that apartment door locked, and no talking to strangers!"
"Yes Daddy." Kelly flew off. Drake waited a moment, then followed.
The couple walked to the courtyard of the Tower. "What all do you need to get, Gale?" asked Edward trying to read the list.
"Milk, canned water, weapon parts, and um..." Gale looked at Edward with a weird grin. "... that last thing is none of your concern."
Edward knew better than to ask. He just followed along side her.
After an hour, they returned to Gale's apartment. Edward put up the groceries and looked to Gale. "Just give me a second and I'll be right over, Ed."
"Okay. I got to get my apartment straightened up anyways." Edward gave Gale a kiss and left.
Edward swiped his key and unlocked the door. He went to the bedroom and turned on the lights. To his surprise, and anger, saw Drake and Kelly just floating, staring at each other.
"What is going on here?!" shouted Edward.
Drake looked to him and spoke in a quiet voice. "Uh, it's just a staring contest..."
Kelly also looked to Edward. "Please don't kill him Daddy..."
"What? Ahh, uh huh!" Edward took Drake in a death grip and pinned him agaisnt the wall. "You better keep your 1 to yourself!!"
Drake took to pieces of his shell and pinched the skin between Edward's thumb and index finger. When Edward let go, Drake rushed for the front door! Edward ran into the living room and caught Drake again. "Uh oh!"
"You're a dead ghost now!" Edward had Drake in a death grip trying to pry his shell apart!
"Ed!!" Gale walked in and both Edward and Drake looked at her. "What are you doing?! I need him for resurrections!"
Edward looked at Drake and spoke through gritted teeth. "You are a lucky son of a b****!" Edward released Drake who floated to Gale.
Kelly flew out of the bedroom to see what was happening. When Gale saw Kelly, she got an idea of what she missed. "Drake, did you... no, no, I don't want to know. Just go to the apartment."
Drake left the room, rather quickly.
"And you, Kelly, are grounded. Go to your room." said Edward sternly.
"Yes Daddy."
Edward and Gale laid on the couch together. "I'm guessing you walked in on them, Ed." asked Gale as she laid her head on Edward's shoulder.
"Yeah." Edward took a deep breath.
"I bet that was awkward." Gale laughed a little.
"Very. And very unusual. I'm assuming that is what ghosts consider as sex... they were just looking at each other." Edward had a horrified look.
Gale had a sly smile. "Want to look at each other tonight?"
"Let's go."
