After about 7 delays throughout 7 years Avatar 2's official release date has been announced to be on December 18, 2020.
Eleven years after the original movie in 2009.

That's a shame. I'm wondering what technology he's waiting on to be produced; last time it was 3D cameras and screening technology, so where could it go from there? I also hope it isn't a direct sequel. Nobody will care about the original characters at that point.

I hope it's some bs pc oriented bull, like making the mc a woman who can somehow beat down aliens even if she has no training because "women are strong too" or having minorities just for the sake of diversity.

I'll see it for the visual effects, which I'm sure will be stunning. And if Zoe Saldana is in it again, that's another plus. But I dread finding out what the plot will be. Sequels tend to have half the content and originality of the first movie, so we'll see.
