"VENTIS!" Becky shouted. She whizzed around the young Warlock, observing him in all his arc glory. "Awww, look at you! If I weren't literally a super A.I., I would think you had been doing this for years! I am SO proud of you, honey!"
Ventis put his hands behind his back and looked down, rubbing his boot into the dirt. "Aww, shucks, Ms. Becky. You're quite flattering. I thank you."
Becky then looked up at BraveCole. "So. What do you think, Brave?"
BraveCole crossed his arms. "You wanna know what I think?" Brave said, excitement was void in his voice, causing Ventis to gulp.
"Y-Yes.. Professor?"
"I think.." BraveCole trailed off. "I think IKORA REY WAS WRONG AND SHE DOUBTED MY -blam!-ING SKILLS! HAHAHA!" BraveCole rushed over to Ventis, picking him up from under his arms and shaking him wildly. "LOOK AT YOU! DO YOU FEEL IT!? THE POWER, VENTIS! YOU ARE MUCH STRONGER THAN YOU WERE BEFORE AND REY-REY THOUGHT IT COULDN'T BE DONE! THE VANGUARD OF THE WARLOCKS DIDN'T HAVE FAITH IN A WARLOCK BUT A TITAN DID!"
"I-I suppose you're right, Professor. But.. Why didn't she?" Ventis asked.
"Because I'm very reckless and this very well could've killed you and Ikora was simply taken the necessary pre-cautions of keeping you alive and well." BraveCole said quickly and bluntly. "But that doesn't matter! You're stormballin'!"
Becky chimed in. "Yeah! And how about you go and take care of those storm-fallen.." She joked.
Silence. Even the storms went quiet for a second.
"Becky." BraveCole said. "Stand by for revive because I think your pun is giving me an aneurysm of some sort."
"And after hearing it, I have an unbearable urge to kill myself." Ventis said.
"Heeeeyyy!" Becky whined. "It wasn't that bad! You guys are just jealous because you didn't think of it first!"
"Cause if we would've thought of it first, we woulda had strokes." BraveCole shrugged. "But there's something here that requires our immediate attention." BraveCole put Ventis down and began observing the fallen skiffs. "You know, it's kinda weird that they haven't deployed anything. What are they up to?"
"Maybe it's a trap." Ventis said.
"You think so?"
"It would explain why they haven't opened fire on us."
"Sweet. Let's go tell them hello." Brave said, jumping down below and treading toward a skiff.
Becky sighed. "He's going to be the death of me." She then materialized into thin air, cloaking and getting out of sight. Ventis hovered down and began following BraveCole's lead.
"Are you sure this is smart?" Ventis asked.
"No. But that's exactly what I want them to think." BraveCole said non-chalantly. "And plus, we need a ship if we wanna get offa Mars. That skiff seems nice, eh?"
"You can pilot a skiff? But how?"
"Carefully." BraveCole said.
The two guardians then arrived under the skiff, and BraveCole put his hands on his hips. Before he could say something, the skiff opened up and deployed an absurd amount of Shanks in seconds. They immedieately opened fire, shooting a hail of arc bullets.
"Spaghetti!" BraveCole yelled. He pulled out an old hand cannon from his waist and began firing at the Shanks. Despite the sheer lethality of the hand cannon's rounds, the bullet's ricocheted off of the Shanks exterior, not damaging it whatsoever.
"Okay, that's badass." BraveCole said nervously, before ducking behind cover along with Ventis. "Someone's upgraded the -blam!- out of those Shanks; bullets won't pierce 'em."
"What makes it even more weird is that Shanks are usually deployed with Fallen. Shanks are meant to be merely distractions. But these were deployed by themselves.." Ventis said aloud, much to BraveCole's amusement.
"Good, Ventis! Excellent observation, remind me to give you a gold star if we live." BraveCole fired a few more blind shots from cover. "And now. New assignment! I bet these guys haven't seen Star Wars, so why don't you go role play as Palpatine?"
Ventis blinked. "Who's Palpatine? There was a war among the stars?"
BraveCole sighed. "No, it was a movie series from th- You know what, nevermind. Go show 'em what you got!"
"Right!" Ventis leaped up in the air doing several flips, until he charged himself with arc energy and went Stormcaller. He thrusted his arms out and began channeling a torrent of arc energy through his hands, disintegrating the upgraded Shanks.
BraveCole, seeing that the skiff was still exposed from deploying the Shanks, took a chance and dashed out from cover. He lept high and grabbed onto the metal prongs and lifted himself up into the ship. The hatches started to close behind him.
"W-Wait! Professor!" Ventis shouted. He thought to himself, before instantly getting a thought. Channeling his arc energy, he instantaneously materialized into ions and blinked forward, right into the skiff before it closed shut.
"Ha!" Ventis shouted, fist pumping the air. "Made it!"
BraveCole sat there in awe. "Did you.. Did you just blink?"
"I think so. It was the only way I could've made it in time. Is that dangerous?"
"-blam!- no. It's just.. That blink. Ionic blink is what the warlock nerds refer to it as, is a very advanced technique. It usually takes a staggering amount of time to learn it.. But you already have done it. You've literally been a stormcaller for ten minutes and you've already preformed a feat that only veteran warlocks know."
"I couldn't of done it without you, Professor."
"I guess you're right. Now, kiddo, let's go hijack a skiff. Get ready, Fallen are probably creeping in here."
Ventis nodded and got up, following BraveCole's lead. The two guardians walked throughout the dimly lit ship, the occasional steam of various pistons could be heard. They suddenly came to a very fortified door, no doubt the one that lead to the control room.
"There's probably a buff ass captain in here dual wielding shrapnel cannons and shock blades watching Netflix. Haven't heard any sirens so we still have the element of surprise." BraveCole whispered. "I'm gonna Fist of Haberdashery the inside. Should get the job done."
Becky then materialized in front of BraveCole's face. "Uhm.. did you just say 'Haberdashery?'" She questioned, talking low as well.
"Yes, that's my super." BraveCole said.
BraveCole and his ghost stared at each other for an uncomfortable amount of time, with Brave not seeming bothered.
Becky sighed. "It's like you're doing this on purpose."
"Probably." BraveCole said. "Now. Let's get this thing going." Brave looked at his hand and snapped, where a whisp of void energy emmited from his fingers.
"No, no. Not void. Arc." He snapped again, where a few embers of fire shot out. "Noooo.. Arc, dude, arc. C'mon." BraveCole snapped over and over, constantly getting small energy spurts of void and solar light.
"I believe you're supposed to formulate electricity in your head, Professor. Or some shit." Ventis said, a smile on his face.
"Haha. Or some shit." BraveCole repeated, thinking that was funny. He snapped once more, and he was finally channeling arc energy. "Ha!" He pounded a fist into his empty hand, where he sent electric sparks flying. He got up and faced the door, where he kicked it open with extreme force.
"KIYAAAAH, BITCH!" He then lifted his hands above his head, ready to jump and release an arc explosion. But, expecting a room full of blood thirsty Fallen, he encountered a single Dreg.
The Dreg was sitting in a chair, half-way spun around to observe the guardians, and BraveCole stared back in an awkward silence. This continued for about 30 seconds until the Dreg screamed bloody murder.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHH!!!" It jumped out of the chair and began throwing all sorts of commodities around, like collars and empty shock cartridges at Brave and Ventis.
"Hey, dude, what the he- ow! Hey! Stop! Calm down!" BraveCole shouted.
"I've never seen a Fallen so.. Scared before." Ventis said.
BraveCole cleared his throat as the Dreg was obviously not listening. [Stop!] Brave yelled. But this time.. In Eliksni.
The Dreg stopped as he heard his mother tongue being spoken by a human. He turned to face him.
"Professor? You can speak fallen? How did you.."
BraveCole didn't respond to Ventis. Instead, he carried on the conversation with the Dreg. [No need to be afraid. Now, what are you doing on Mars?]
The Dreg, feeling a bit more at ease, spoke back. [Saw arc storm.. Needed energy. Ether supply, not very abundant. If had not come here, I would've had no choice. Would've starved. Would've died.]
[I recognize the colors. House exile? Why would they send one Dreg to mars? For a house made up of outcasts, it'd be in your best interest to stay together right?]
[Was of House Devil. Then of House Exile. Now.. No house. Alone. Afraid.]
BraveCole turned back to Ventis. "He says that he doesn't have a house."
"That's weird. He's a Dreg though, should be easy to be assimilated into just about any house." Ventis responded.
