House of Scar, Ch. 15: LOG ENTRY: Vrayth

Sorry for the delay, got caught up with school work. ;( If you missed the last chapter, you can find it here. If you need all the other chapters, go to the Table of Contents. Enjoy! The servitor has been finished, my first deed as Archon Priest complete. Beautiful arbiter of life, the massive, unblinking eye stares at me. Our machine gods have no emotion, no life, and yet they gift us with what they do not have; but that is the purpose the Great Machine gave them. A gift from the line of Teriks, these servitors can defend themselves better than most: a thicker chassis than most, evasive and aggressive teleportation, and the usual void energy weapon. Still, an imperfect being. It does not have what I was gifted with, the technology that perfected me. The order disgraced me, sent me away, and said I was unworthy of the Archon title. They told me that it changed me and mutilated my mind, but I’ve never been more alive! SIVA has removed the bonds of ether and has made me stronger than ever, and soon I will spread it to the other houses, starting with House Scar. After I took Teriks Prime to the once-empty Worship Hall of the ketch, I called the Kell of Scar to see my success. Five minutes later, Vesrik and all eliksni of the Scar banner were here, almost crowding the area. The rest of the Scar banner had no need to come, for they did not need ether to survive. The eyes of several eliksni stared at me, trying to understand what the swarming tech around myself was. “Quiet, quiet, everyone! Listen to your kell!” The eyes turned away from me and back to Vesrik. “This prime servitor could not have been built without the help of this willing Samaritan. Our new Archon Priest, Vrayth, is the creator of Teriks Prime, and has set a large foundation for this house!” Everyone looked to me, clapping their hands and clicking with glee at the reconstruction of a long-dead servitor. Not one eliksni in this generation of House Scar has seen Teriks Prime rebuilt. I nodded and said, “Thank you, brothers and sisters, and thank you Vesrik for allowing me into House Scar. I hope I exceed your expectations.” Of course, I had other plans, in which he would learn about soon enough. Everyone kneeled before the mighty servitor, and when they cleared out, Vesrik came to speak with me. “We appreciate what you have done and your willingness to join us, but you said something about creating a lair for Teriks. Do you have a place in mind?” Unbeknownst to the massive kell, I smirked behind me mask. “I have been researching areas around Sol System that could make a fine home for Scar banner. There is a dead zone on Earth that I have placed much of my time gathering intel on: Paris, France. It contains a palace not far from it, and a tower that would be great for watching over the city.” The kell seemed happy just to get an immediate answer, as if expecting the solution to take a while to plan. It already seemed as if he was happy to live somewhere other than the cold deck of the ketch. He replies with anticipation, “Should we leave now? I have supplies to set up shop there, so we should be well-prepared.” “I would have to say yes. The Devils left Paris a while ago, so we should be in the clear. A palace for you, my kell, and a safe place for House Scar, yes?” Before Vesrik leaves, he says, “Thank you, Vrayth. I’ll set a course for France right now. Do you think there is a risk for Guardian activity?” I think about it for a second. “No, I would not think so. They focus mostly on Russia, Luna, Mars, or Venus.” The kell nodded a massive head, and left for the bridge. Once he had left the Worship Hall, I walked to the prime servitor and stared into its emotionless eye. I let out a long sigh. “Soon, precious, soon. Once my plan unfolds, we will bring forth a new house! One of strength and metal, one that can claim the Great Machine.” I paced around the room, thinking of the offer he gave me. He told me if I promised to deliver House Scar, then he would wrangle the Exiles. To me, this house was not worth the zealot’s time, but he saw Vesrik a being of high importance. His ambassador told me that the Kell of Scar had something that no other eliksni has in their possession; he hissed when I asked him to elaborate. I always thought it obvious that he hid something, but I don’t think Vesrik has anything that important… right? That doesn’t matter, because soon he will be all too comfortable in Versailles he will not even know they are coming. I know once the kell is there that he will bring even more eliksni under the Scar banner, but it will be pointless in the end. After they are broken, any member of House Scar that does not wish to become one with SIVA will be handed over to their breaker. I have been following Vesrik ever since Heathen’s Port; it was I who slipped the coordinates into his ketch while he was escaping Malone at the port. I can feel the mites buzzing, pushing against my submind. They try to steal fragments of memory, but I do not let them. SIVA will unite the houses and all eliksni, and the filth that sits beneath the Great Machine will be eradicated. They have no will, but they want to BE. If Skolas witnesses its capabilities, he too will join me in my crusade. After the Wolves join, only the dead soldiers will raise a finger against me. New worlds will be built from these tiny mites. Weapons and cities and ships created by thought and science. Worlds will burn and cities will crumble. Ships will fall from the sky trying to flee the reborn nobility of my people. I fear my will is not strong enough to shape these worlds. Only the Tyrant can do that, but he will not be a part of my journey. Even his reach has limits, and we will be nine billion miles away. The dead soldiers are powerful, but we will be strong enough with SIVA! Worlds will be shaped from the mites, and we will be its rulers. I whisper my concerns to the Tyrant in tiny magnetic bursts. He does not listen. I do not expect a large chance of success, but there is nothing wrong with dreaming of the Fallen becoming the Risen. My inquiry said take the SIVA, and I took the SIVA. This is all for the greater good of my people. The Tyrant says take the SIVA, and so I take the SIVA. The Tyrant says go to the stars, and so I go to the stars.
