What happens if developers make Scorpio exclusives unable to run on current Xbox Ones? That would only fracture the player base even further in disarray. And if developers go the route of parity, what has been stopping them from X1 exclusives this whole console generation?

It'll work how xbone works with 360. Exclusives get released on both, while 360 games can be played on xbone and the new system games come out only on xbone. Its not as bad as you make it to be.

That's not going to happen. There will be games that run much better on Scorpio, but they won't make anything exclusive.

Maybe not to begin with. However as time goes by, and consoles get more powerful, it's inevitable the Scorpio will get exclusives. The devs will eventually stop making for the older tech. Before you jump in with Phil Spencer said ( "nobody gets left behind" ). That means Scorpio will play all Xbox One games, not the other way around imo.
