So I tried doing a raid carry earlier helping a friend who hadn't done vog.
What I used to do in year one was just get everyone to snipe from the top while I blocked the teleports myself.
This method is similar. You only need one Titan with a blessing bubble.
Get your team to stand at the top of the steps. You can see them in the video.
Edit: this is what the damage team is supposed to do: https://youtu.be/hao9EJCjToI
They just pop out of the bubble. Fire rockets. Go back in. Rince and repeat.
This is so easy that I was eating pancakes while doing this. Hence why I ignored being shot by adds at one point. Ideally you should not be eating pancakes while doing this.
Any class can use the relic. I did the exact same thing on my warlock and hunter today as well.
Using this method the fight is over in less than a minute and 30 seconds. The overall damage phase lasted about 40 seconds after my team mates break out of containment.
Edit 2: kill atheon in less than 100 seconds also doing Challenge mode. https://youtu.be/1L5PGfDh97A

I'm bumping this as I have added the damage teams POV, as well as showing how to easily beat atheon challenge.
-
Well then, that was amazing! Took the team I was with forever to find a strategy that worked and we ended up going with five people on one side and the relic holder on the other side to block the teleport there. Worked well but I think your way is much better
Ideally you should not be eating pancakes while doing this.
Stopped reading after this abortion of advice. No.
-
I was looking for a more challenging way to eat pancakes and you delivered. Thank you.
-
Thanks for posting this. We really struggled with the Templar. Gonna give this a go!
-
Good post.

Blink best jump kappa

Are you guys seeing this? This is how it gets done. People in mid just shoot, shoot, shoot the boss. Relic holder runs between the two teleports. All of my teams would worry about ads to the point where they died all the time and would get low damage in.
-
It is me or do some people not understand if you don't do the Templar challenge then that Oracles spawn again? I have tried to not going the challenge and people was confused on to why the Oracles was spawning again. I told them every time the Templar teleport he spawns Oracles and they said that's to hard to do. I'm thinking wow yall are not year 1 players.
-
Very nice, will try!
-
I always use the bum rush method except I have a titan throw a blessing on the right side teleport point to give relief to the relic hunter. We just use tethers and bubbles until drops. It takes about 2 to five minutes with sleepers and g horns.
-
I love that video just because it doesn't have some obnoxious way too loud, dub-step intro. Well done.
-
I'm gonna start running this, rather than have a bubble bro one one side and Relic on the other.

Edited by VULFDREK: 4/9/2017 9:42:53 PMI like how Atheon challenge is supposed to be the hardest one in the game yet it turned out to be Templar.
I find all the challenges to be a joke, stop being stuck on easy challenges people.
-
this is a hell of a lot easier when your team is able to kill it in three teleports. a couple more and the ads on right overwhelm you crazy fast. good strat nonetheless
-
Should just pop one long armor bubble over each plate 3 each side don't worry about adds and burn like skolas. How we did over 15 runs
-
So everyone just blasts him center stage while you dart back and forth? Am I missing anything?
-
The problem with all my teams are the hunters. For the past 5+ groups that I've had no sucess with, the hunter never calls out their tether, making us lose DPS time. I was only able to kill him once before, and that's because everybody was calling out thethers and such.
-
Bump. This strategy makes the Templar Challenge extremely easy.
-
I love this method. I ran it with my hunter for a group the other day and the relic path was really fun. Only thing I am going to try different in the future is to run the horseshoe path around the back of the team instead of going straight from spot to spot. To spend less time exposed to damage. Because it is really possible to get overwhelmed by adds and not have your shield back up

What guns did they use to shoot the Templar? Snipers and G-horn?
-
You played on a Titan, did you choose not to pop your bubble just to show that you can do it? Play smarter, not harder.
-
Thank you for this, it saved me so much time
-
I did this exact thing but I was a hunter and kept getting chewed up by the minotaurs on right side...
-
I did this the first day but we had dps stand in the harpy cave. I like your spot better gonna have to give it a try maybe throw a weapons on there as well
