I agree that Destiny makes players repeat the same process over and over again, but so does every MMO on the market, and you don't see people stop buying expansions/sequels. But I would think someone who doesn't enjoy grinding would stop grinding before accumulating that much play-time.
I'm on the same page that certain exotic weapons *cough* G-horn *cough* should be a random drop. It takes away all the excitement when you know that it is a guaranteed reward. On the other hand, I think that quests like the one for Outbreak Prime and Sleeper Sim is quite okay, because they're designed in such a way that the quest is [i]slightly [/i] challenging.

I think it's okay to have bounties for separate game-modes, but the rewards shouldn't be gated behind one or the other. Still, it's completely voluntary to do them, so to say it's centered around one game-mode is a bit far-fetched. For example the sword quests from TTK. These should be do-able in just PvE or PvP, not both.
