There's well over "a handful." After 2 1/2 years of an original game, I'd say it's holding up surprisingly well. Especially since so many people voice so many negative opinions on it. And before you bring up the examples like WoW... I know. It's still popular. (Insert example of game here) was and is very successful. Some games thrive better than others. I'm not saying destiny still has a "massive" player base, but you certainly shouldn't be saying "a handful."
