Hey guys! During the live stream showing off the weekly rituals for "The Age of Triumph", one of the major points was about the new Daybreak modifier. This is the new nightfall modifier that will make it so that all of your abilities recharge as quickly as in the mayhem crucible playlist. They specifically mentioned that this modifier will be present every four weeks. Then, it was mentioned that starting July 18th, it will be present for the next 6 weeks. This sounds like the perfect last hoorah for Destiny one. Let's look at this time frame:
Week 1: July 18th - July 25th
Week 2: July 25th - August 1st
Week 3: August 1st - August 8th
Week 4: August 8th - August 15th
Week 5: August 15th - August 22nd
Week 6: August 22nd - August 29th
Why have it end at such a weird time, unless this is right before Destiny 2 comes out!? Most of us expect a September release, as Destiny, the Taken King, and the Rise of Iron all came out in September. This would be a hell of a coincidence, if it wasn't a lead up to Destiny 2. I think this is a lead-up to an early September release, probably on September 5th or 12th! Let me know what you guys think, and why or why you don't agree with this theory. Have an awesome day!

Destiny 2 will drop between September, and mid October, if it doesn't drop in the six week that it entails it will drop mid December, which I highly doubt as the game won't have had much time to get on people's Christmas lists. It won't drop around a CoD release. It is pretty much a given that it will drop in September to mid October.

September 11th, Destiny, the twin towers is born.
-
Wow that's a surprise...or not
-
bungie has a 7 fetish and I believe that they have always released their games in September.

Edited by DidacticRhetoric: 3/16/2017 9:10:28 PMSo many great games this fall. Destiny 2 will be a backburner game for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing D1 but I think Bungie has shown that it's best to wait and see. Give them some time to figure things out initially before you buy their games. The progression and loot system in D1 for the first 3-4 months were ridiculous.

And I'll be starting my first semester of college in September. Good bye any chance of getting very far during the vanilla game, lol.
-
Release date was confirmed by Bungie Sandbox Team to be June 31, 2017!
-
Bungie will leave us all waiting till E3 for something on D2. And I'll be in Mexico damn it.
-
I wonder when the beta will drop
-
I agree. As soon as they said it would last for six weeks, i immediately thought about a September release for D2.
-
Dont forgot about destiny 2 beta dude
-
I mean literally every other major Destiny expansion was released in September. So yea that's a pretty safe bet.
-
I am hoping for demo.... i want try out new class.
-
Yes. Thank you for the wall of text explaining common sense.
-
Every major Destiny releases have been in early September so... Yeah, it's pretty likely. Or in November.
-
Maybe September 9th, which would make it so that Years 1-3 are Destiny one, and the start of Year 4 is also the launch of Destiny 2.
-
Edited by Hunter: 3/16/2017 3:18:07 PMMost likely on a Tuesday in September. Second week. The Twelfth. I originally also said the Fifth, but then Year 4 wouldn't have started.
-
After August 29. Destiny servers go offline and bungle disappears and destiny 2 doesn't release.
-
Go down the bookies and make a bet..... if ya win ..get a copy of d2 ...
-
Good observation
-
Hint at it ???? I thought it was a done deal and set in stone it was gonna be September.?
-
I say the daybreak thing ends 08/29 then they have a couple of streams the first two weeks of September, then release D2 towards the end of September. Sounds fitting but I guess we'll see
