They say the only thing we'll be taking with us is our characters under-the-helmet appearances, which is probably worse than starting from scratch, as when we created them WE COULDN'T EVEN TURN AROUND TO SEE WHAT WE LOOKED LIKE FROM THE BACK!!!
My hunter has what is probably the downright -blam!-est haircut in history. If, of all the things you could be, you're only going to carry THAT piece of -blam!- forward, at the very goddamn least give me the chance to change it first!

Edited by embaresedmonkey: 3/7/2017 1:11:13 PMThey will probably have an option where we can bring it over if we want to
-
Anyone else looking to change their character gender. I could get over the fact that my characters exo face looks like crap with wierd colors and markings but I've run a warlock for all 3 years and the bulkiness of the armor on the male character annoys they hell out of me.
-
Edited by blade329: 3/6/2017 5:12:00 PMJust create new characters. If I can't keep any gear, I'm starting completely from scratch.
-
Easy Fix for that Just delete your D1 characters before installing Destiny2 you're not keeping any of your gear anyway.
-
Isn't that called "making a new character"?
-
I agree bump my Titan is too white so I want to change that and my hunter's eyes are silly.
-
Edited by TRDoug: 3/5/2017 11:07:00 PMNope......the ONE THING we've been asking to change since launch is THE ONLY thing that will carry over to Destiny 2.
-
I just hope we have a lot more choice, the choices were sooooo limited in destiny 1.
-
Well if you're starting from scratch, just create a new character. What's the difference?
-
I'm one of the few that are satisfied with the my characters look, but I do agree it would be nice to adjust them a bit more before going into the next game.

Lmfao Some of the smallest things Bungie never added to this game is too funny.
-
Here...have a Beej
-
I don't even have a human character. What is Bungie doing?
-
I just want to change my eyes, that's all, I hate my orange eyes.

Edited by MelissaJDiamond: 3/5/2017 5:31:29 PMHopefully they will let us change our characters appearance I totally messed up with my Warlocks hair just so the wrong Colour. Hopefully at E3 we get a glimpse of Destiny 2 ;-) and they might give us more information on whather we can do this
-
So, wait. We can't keep any gear. So why do we have to keep the characters? I mean, if I don't have any gear, what's the point of keeping the characters? I hate how my character looks. Why can't I change it first? So there is literally no point in keeping them. Just let us keep the old options, add new ones. IF someone wants to look like they used to, they can just pick them.
-
the only thing wrong with my character is a lack of a beard. I would legit pay 1000-1500 silver just to have facial hair, id never wear my helmet again.
-
If you want a new appearance just start a new character when D2 drops.
-
Rest easy this will be in .... know why ......
-
Yes delete the one you have and remake it
-
This is why you choose EXO.

Once I considered it's be a bad thing to lose a Destiny character (or all of them) but for PVE these resets where you need to go acquire completely new sets of gear have been happening throughout the game. I deleted a couple of characters a while back. One reason was to change appearance. To start a new character and run from start to end all of the Destiny story including all expansions, solo once you know the drill is about a weekend worth of time. And it's actually fun for a change compared to just grinding the endgame content. Destiny 2 will launch. We'll be able to run all the launch content in a weekend or less. Sure they'll likely time gate some of it, and then we'll complete that within hours. Even if you have a zillion hours spent in Destiny, The real time in character leveling is actually a small part of that. With D2, Bungie's basically deleting your characters for you, elevating an empty shell and giving you that fresh start. If they don't let you change looks as part of D2 setup actually deleting the character and changing looks is likely to be a small burden.

Hey you know what you could do? CREATE A NEW GUY AND MAKE HIM THE WAY YOU WANT. So tired of hearing about this. If you're so concerned with how your guardian looks you could: 1. Go play Barbie fashion Adventures 2. Wear your helmet (the subtle fix they already put in the game) or 3. Remake your character and make him look the way you want. Since nothing is carrying over anyways you have no reason to not remake other than laziness. Sure, it would be great if you could just push a button and be able to remake your character but obviously it's not that simple or else Bungie would have done it already. I don't like the way my guardian looks either but I have options if I want them. I suggest you exercise yours and start remaking your character because no change is coming unless by some miracle it's included in the next update.

Edited by treestar88: 3/5/2017 2:17:27 AMThey never said you can't change your old characters look. To me it sounds like your old character will be used as a template, and even so, you don't have to use it.

Edited by KingOfGames: 3/5/2017 1:49:48 AMI'm 100% happy with my warlock's looks, but when I first started destiny I didn't know what I was doing so I wanna put some red bloody marks on my Titan, and my hunter looks like he has pigmentation disease. If Fallout 4 can have a face changing feature so can Destiny 2.
