Its been awhile, but I promised more.. So here is the next Flat Earth Destiny Arsenal - weapon concepts inspired by Flat Earth Thought. As both a Flat Earth Theorist and a major fan of the game, this is a series of threads I particularly enjoy. The first weapon was a sniper. So today I'd like to present a shotgun:
#2: Against The Spin
Shotgun
Weapon Description: Amidst the current I shall guide you, Against the current I shall steady you
Exotic Perk, Invisible Magic: Every shot has 15% chance of producing no recoil. Massive stopping power despite long range and agile handling. Penalty to stability and rate of fire.
Notes On Weapon Stats: Imagine a long range, precision shot gun like The Chaperone , but that actually works. While the penalty to stability and rate of fire would keep this gun from being too OP, its almost max range and impact would make it truly formidable. Imagine a gun like Matador, with more range and impact, but that requires some skill to use effectively. Given the recent nerfs, offering us a weapon like this would allow Bungie to give us something even while taking. As a shotgun user, I would like it...
Flat Earth Conceptual Background
Against The Spin refers to the many observable phenomena on earth that directly defy the spherist physics conceptually possible on a globe earth. For example, some rives flow from the east towards the west, against the spin of earth's rotation. The Narmada river in India flows in this way, directly against the supposed 1000mph spin of the earth. How is this possible?
Because the Earth IS Flat and the visible effects of gravitation are better explained by Universal Acceleration But spherists will likely claim that the invisible magic of gravity somehow explains how a body of water can overcome the directional force of 1000mph. And thats the problem with spherist/scientific explanations: they are invisible. Citing "facts", like being able to toss a ball up and down on a moving bus or train, spherists refer to phenomenon as counter examples that have no relation to reality. They use the invisible magic of smooth but faulty reasoning to convince, not explain. And many of us accept their explanations simply because they come prepackaged with the official stamp of scientific "authority". Flat Earth Theory offers rational explanations that are consistent not only with what is observed in nature (the Narmada river), but with what is conceptually possible as well. FET theorists do not just concoct vague explanations out of thin air, they actually look at the facts by engaging with nature through observation...
HI KHRISNA! REMEMBER ME! IM FROM OFFTOPIC!!!
-
please dont make me give you a bad roll...
-
Do not feed the trolls.
-
Nope, the Earth is still a sphere just like any celestial body with a mass to support it. Exceptions are a few moons like Phobos or asteroids who have more of a potato shape.
-
I feel like most of the first earth people are b8rs, but it's honestly depressing to think that there are people who actual think it's real.
-
I was thinking like... pitchforks, and torches. You know, to be in line with the intelligence level of the flat-Earthers. So they could go after those evil scientists, in their big scary castles, for telling us all that world is round, in their big conspiracy to make us believe in their technology. You gotta hand it to those scientists though. They are some fore-thinking sons of guns. They started telling us hundreds of years ago that the earth was round, so that when they decide to tell us that satellites and space travel were developed, here in our modern times, we'd all believe the lies!
-
Not sure if satire. Otherwise, I'd have no choice but to mute you.

SHOTGUNS MUST BE NERF'D TO THE GROUND!

Edited by Madman_ddg: 2/21/2017 1:15:21 PMHmm ok so if your in America and you want to go to let's say Japan you have to fly across the full length of the earth to get ther......? Does Someone know how long it takes to get from LA to Japan ? Must be like 2 days of flying right?
it's a very long trip than......? :)
Just follow simple logic. If the earth was flat, how does GPS work? How can we have days if we didn't rotate spherically? How are there seasons? How can the moon, a much smaller mass, and everything else we've ever discovered at the critical level of mass (i.e. Large enough mass to become spherical and level out) be spherical? I'm sure I could think of infinite more reasons that just follow self reasoning and need no external proof.

Cringe

The flat earthers have members all around the globe.

Edited by SinisterSmile: 2/21/2017 4:26:44 AMHey Krishna, if they believed in a "flat earth" wouldn't the planets including earth be flat once you are out of light speed? Every planet is a sphere. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Ahem...show me the big ice wall and then I'll believe you.
-
All the planets in the loading screens are a circle, a 2D shape. Flat planets confirmed

Edited by Unbreakable Patches: 2/21/2017 12:19:37 AMMy favorite part besides you obtaining a deific troll status is the fact that people argue with you. Every. Single. Time.
-
Go to YouTube and type NASA live stream from Space station. The video has the curvature of the earth disproving flat earth.
-
My brain hurts from your logic. Anyone with a telescope or even a plane could disprove this. I know it's trolling but god people actually really do follow this crap.
-
Take this flat earth shit back to off topic, Krishna. You know you don't belong here
-
I remember watching these people debate flat Earth at a bar downtown, and it got so heated two guys literally got into a fist fight. I love New York.
-
So here's what I want you to do. Become an engineer (like I did) make a rocket, then attach a camera to said rocket. Then realize how stupid you are 🤗🙃
-
Please go back to offtopic.
Please
-
Whoa convoluted fabrications. It really benefits the government to lie about the earth being flat. Pffffffft.
-
How much kick are we talking about? Like to the roof? I definitely don't want to see a better matador in crucible.
-
How does that even make remote sense? Take water, make a stream going down hill, put water in it. There, a river going the opposite direction of Earths rotation.

Edited by Hazethemadman: 2/20/2017 6:57:42 PMWhat bothers me here is that Flat Earth Theory isn't wrong (theoretically speaking). The disc format for the earth that it prescribes technically could work, and tautology turns the idea into reality (for the people who believe in it).
I mean, most people believe that the earth is round. It is a belief, in most cases, because the only evidence is second-hand. You have to believe in people and institutions, like NASA, for it to be true.
Someone help im thinking and I can't stop. Thinking hurt Haze head. Edit: Im not saying I believe the earth is flat people, just posted this for fun. Edit 2: Take criticisms to google, thats where I found this shit.
