I recently posted in my blog, Flat Earth & Thought, a short piece explaining one of the central principles of Flat Earth Theory. The Obligate Tendency Towards Downward Motion admits as a principle what science is too proud to allow. The force that causes downwards motion does not require explanation: it is an inherent tendency of all unsupported objects to fall. Like 2+2=4, no explanation is need OR even possible. It is a fact that simply is.

So the phenomenon we call gravity? Let me explain; Gravity is the name given to the force that pulls objects to the surface of the Earth. If you've ever dropped a pen or jumped and felt yourself fall back to the ground, which you have, you've experienced gravity. No matter what explanation you try to bring up, be it an endlessly accelerating Earth, a natural tendency of downward motion, or anything in between, the fact still remains that the phenomenon itself is called gravity. What you deny, however, is the scientific theory of gravity. This is currently the best description of the causes and effects of this force. It's states that bodies of mass will displace space and attract other objects. Everything has a gravitational field, but the force itself is so weak that only very large bodies are capable of having any true effect.
